Oh yeah I agree there. They advertise you can run in them but I don’t think I will. Truth be told with an Air Bike and a rower I don’t think I’m going to be doing much running ever again. I do need new running shoes ironically so maybe I’ll give the No Bull Running shoes a try. For those days I feel like running.

Just found this thread. Nice to see others trying to take care of themselves! I see the thread started in 2014, that was the last time i restarted my own commitment to fitness. With one or two lapses here and there, i've been doing crossfit at this place ever since:

i'm not in the best shape of my life, but i can hold my own at the gym :muscleflexing:

    Good to know.
I’m glad to get you and @csuviper s feedback on those as I was looking into them.

I have Reebok runners I run in but my favorite and most versatile shoe is still my older Nano 5. I wish I could find another pair to get. They do everything well from running to lifting. The new Nanos look promising.

The Trainers I love. Not a fan of running in them. They have a hard sole and little drop so they make an excellent shoe to DL and squat in. When Powerlifting I DL and squat in socks. I will probably check out the socks that Chris Duffin is working on when they come out. As far as DL and squatting in a WOD I obviously just keep the no bulls on. They are made of some of the most durable material ever so you will probably never destroy them. The rubber sole has a bit of grip on the side to help with rope climbing.

I was looking at Nano’s before I got these for the wife and I. Have you checked Amazon for a pair of Nano 5’s? Sometimes they have limited stock of older models.

As for the Runners they give a military discount so I’ll probably get a pair in the next month or so depending on how much running I think I might be doing.

I actually got those Nano 5s off Amazon a couple years ago. Lol Carolina has been looking for some for me again with no luck.

I have heard good things about the No Bulls and have a few buddies that have and like them. I just like a shoe that is versatile. I guess we will see if the new Nano will be our next choice.

Day 1 of Street Parking. I'm doing Program B with the barbell. Gotta say, it kicked my ass. Pretty sure I need to work on my deadlift form.

I hit 4 at 175 and then up to 11 at 135. Figured I should keep the weight down until I get my form dialed in more.

Nice!! Welcome to the party!!! I did Barbell as well but did 8cal's on the Airbike. Made it through round of 11 dead lifts with 225. I always convert from PL to SP wrong and hose myself. I decided to go lighter then I thought I should and it turns out that was a good idea. Yesterday was Squat day then today happened. I haven't looked ahead at whats to come tomorrow yet.:fingerscrossed: no freaking thrusters

Also I was so busy trying to get the kids back over from a friends house and putting stuff away but left the air bike out. The wife took that as I wanted her to use it. She isn't so happy to find out I just didn't put it away.haha

Well this finally happened today. 6hundo club!!!! I was chasing this for the charity DL meet I did in December. Missed 615(only to top of my socks). Tried 600 a week later and missed it again. Haven't tried since then. Needed to reset my training max's for my next program. Can't wait to see what happens this next December.

Well done! Very impressive. I think I'd shit myself lifting 600. LOL.

I see you lift in socks too.

    Thank you.

Yeah it helps(at least me) make sure my weight is centered on my feet. I do have Converse that I lift in if the gym floor is too cold.

I find the same thing with lifting in socks. My stability feels alot better. I havent tried dedicated lifting shoes, but I'm also not lifting really heavy.

Good luck @csuviper! Hope you get it. Stay positive that day and picture yourself hitting your goal. That and a good planned out warmup and you’ll make it fly up.

    You got this!!!!

Training for a half marathon and picked up a Garmin Forerunner 45 watch to track my runs and fitness. Pretty stoked on my first VO2 max reading. I’m 34 btw.

Not sure if I'm going to keep going with Street Parking. My joints are killing me, especially my hips, knees and ankles. I've never had joint pain before, even when getting back into running or strength training after a long hiatus. The rapid movement of the crossfit type weight exercises is aggravating my shoulder as well. I think I hurt my foot on Monday too...

The other obstacle I run into are days where they say something like "400m run then X number of such and such lift". I can't lift in my running shoes, and taking the shoes on and off wastes time and my heart rate drops kinda defeating the point.

Other than that, my body doesn't seem to respond well to it. I haven't changed my diet and I'm not burning body fat like I did when focusing on running and body weight exercise. I'm more bloated and and have actually gained a few pounds of body fat in the last week. Not sure if that's because my background is mountain biking, soccer, and swimming so more cardio based or what the deal is there.

More and more I'm growing to hate weight training. I can't stand it. I'd rather run on a treadmill staring at the wall than do squats or deadlifts.

Feeling pretty discouraged right now. All I want to do is stick with swimming, biking and treadmill runs, weights be damned. I'll give SP another week or two, but I'll be scaling back to only 3 times a week as I sort out my potential injuries and pain.

That sucks to hear. I totally understand where you are coming from with the joint pain and the shoe situation. I had to buy knee sleeves just for Street Parking because my SBD powerlifting ones are too thick and sized down as well. So you can walk...barely but I'm not running/rowing or anything in them.

I hope you can find something that helps with the joints. I even went down the cbd route. Have some great cream but thats only temporary relief.

No matter which route you choose I wish you luck. If you have any questions about it maybe we can help.

Well a few months ago I started that RP App for a cut. At first everything was fine..minus my wrong input to the app(starting weight). I was constantly chasing a lower weight that the app wanted me to hit. After about 3 weeks and 10 pound loss I was within a pound of it. But I let it keep adjusting my macros down trying to get on track. After 2 or 3 weeks where it thought I was eating 30g of carbs a day it finally recommended I stop. Lets be real at that low of intake I was eating stuff that wasn't logged...this is partially because with that app if you don't eat one of the programmed foods you can't add it.
So I wasn't that upset i lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks and was slowly still loosing(would have been faster probably if i wasn't sneaking food). But I decided to end my cut and switch to Maintenance. This is when the shit show started. I went from realistically about 80g of carbs a day to just under 300 on lifting days. Protein and Fat didn't change much.
In about 3 weeks I had gained 8 pounds back and somehow was "Still in Range" WTF??? .2 pounds over in a cut and I'm outta range...8 pounds over in Maintenance and I'm in Range????? Tomorrow I am weighing in for fun just to see what it says. I have stopped logging meals 2 days ago and switching back to My Fitness Pal with some hopefully better Macro numbers. I also will start graveyard again in three weeks and the app doesn't support shift work.
Really RP!!! I think they should have waited till this was worked out before coming to market. The shift thing is supposed to be updated in the next couple weeks I think. The good thing is I am going to use these weeks to get adjusted to my new schedule and then maybe start another cut knowing how everything works and see if I can't dial in the success with this thing. Also I did pickup the appreciation for their shirt"Will Train For Carbs"

I think I'm going to go back to a program I used to do that was a mix of running, swimming and body weight exercise with some Starting Strength barbell training mixed in. I had decent results with that and no abnormal pain. I'll give SP one more week or so, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to drop it. I did really like the progam though. :(

How much time are you spending on stretching/mobility/recovery?

CrossFit type shit will fuck you up in a hurry if you're not intentionally recovering. Throughout the day, I probably spend an hour on recovery at least.

As for bloated and weight gain, are you eating differently?

I usually stretch for 10 - 15 minutes before and after each workout. Due to my job, I'm also stretching periodically throughout the day. I'd guess 5 minutes every hour or so.

I've had the same diet plan going since Januaray. I dropped 15 pounds or so since late January and was steadily shedding off about 1 - 2 pounds a week until I stopped my running/bodyweight routine and focused on Street Parking.

Nice! I was going to do the endurance program today but decided I may do it tomorrow.
My entire schedule changed so I am working through that trying to figure out how this is going to play out.
I started doing 5th Set again for my powerlifting program. I was going to keep going with my coach but unfortunately plans changed. So I had to run all new max's two weeks ago, start week one on 5th Set this week, and try and get in my SP. My legs and shoulders are freaking toast right now. I plan on continuing SP but I need to give my body at least 2 weeks or more to get used to the load of all the new accessory work.
