Makes total sense. Good thing she didn't test for testicular cancer; something else would have been "elevated" ;)

ok, gym rats. i need some recommendations. for the past 6 weeks or so, i've been having issues with my hands. the last time this happened, it didn't end well and i'd like to try and get ahead of it to avoid a similar outcome. my grip strength in both hands has fallen significantly. so much so that i'm having difficulty again with simple tasks like opening the pasta sauce jar and hanging onto cameras...

i started up with some of the PT exercises that i remember for the last time around but i'm need of some recommendations for grip strengtheners. figured a few of you should know something. what to get. what to avoid. finger, wrist and forearm exercises. that kind of stuff.

having the last couple of weeks off from the day job has helped but that ends tomorrow and i'm afraid of being back behind a laptop full time again.

Several of those are possible from the hotel. Just have to get creative at times.

@Law323 what are your thoughts on bosu balls? I have been using one at PT for balance and strengthening my leg after a PCL tear.

Do you ever use them in workouts? I don't plan to be getting silly with weights it, but I like some of the exercises at least for rehabbing an injury. Thinking about buying one for the home "gym"....

we have a few of these around the house. full balls as well as the halfsies. my middle daughter, the ballerina, will flip over the half ones so she's standing on the base then run through a series of balance work.

i find them great for core work, balance and agility. all good things no matter what kind of gym routine you have. i used to use them more when i was doing TKD 5-6 days a week. now i just fit them in with some yoga a couple of days a week.

Good to know! I need to do my research and see how many different things I can do with it.

I had never used one before PT, I have to say they seem great for balance, etc.

I love them for core work and to introduce instability (to strengthen my stabilizers e.g. rotator cuff, etc) Another method I use is TRX.

Definitely a great way to strengthen and gain back stability after a major tear like the PCL.

try deadlifts, farmers walks, or just stand there holding some db's for a period of time.

EDIT: Just saw your comment about hotel rooms.......hold your fully packed baggage one hand at a time. do around a minute hold each hand for a few sets and bulid up from there.

Down in the pain cave. Day 3 of fit test prep.

    E858A345-E96F-4778-AB4D-CC137AB0F190.jpg

My power is way down from this point last year. Not sure of the reason. The Sufferfest app has changed how it calculates virtual power so that might be it. But my day job travel for the last 4-5 months was way higher than the same span in 2016. Maybe that’s it. Stress is high. Slightly depressed. It’s probably everything.

Easy recovery spin tomorrow. Day off (just yoga) on Friday. Primer drills on Saturday then fit test on Sunday.
