Ok I need some help on what supliments I should be taking. I am working out at Orange Theory Fitness 3 times per week, doing 100 push-ups per day and mixing in some heavy weight lifting at home on days when I am not doing OTF.
I currently am taking the Costco preworkout mix that has BCAAs, caffeine and little creotine and also a few of the pill form BCAAs from “true nutrition”. These are taken on OTF days. When I lift at home I will sometimes take the same preworkout if I am planning to workout harder. I also have a small bottle of creotine from “true nutrition” that I really only take on heavy lifting days or OTF strength days were heavier weights are used. I have some plant based protein mix for shakes but haven’t been really drinking them that much.

My plans are to slim up especially around the belly and get in good shape for running obstacle courses. I don’t just want to slim up and look small, want to increase muscle size at the same time.

    Thoughts on supplements, food, etc?

    Yep. Arthroscopic

How’s your diet? That is what will make and break anything.

    Creatine: 5g daily.

BCAA’s: Technically are used as a bolus between meals; as it’s the building blocks of protein. 2:1:1 ratio is great. I do use them at times when cutting if I’m not consuming Karbolyn (pure carbs) peri workout or to curve a sweet tooth craving.

Pre-workout: up to you. I chase pumps so I look for several ingredients and reputable companies.

Go see Nate at Nutrition Company...he gives Sean’s buddy’s discounts at times..

You either need to cut or gain first..set a weight goal in mind, follow the diet and reverse slowly by adding maybe 50-80cals every week or two back into the diet

Minor limping. Managed to rip a stitch, but let it heals itself opposed to going back. I took off the last bandage yesterday

I hope you get better quick. I am recovering from a partial PCL tear, MCL sprain, bone bruise.

No surgery for me (hopefully anyway), just hopefully need to wear my feminine products for a few more weeks. Can't wait to get back to 100%!

I am cutting currently. I don’t count calories or protein, fat carb intake and really don’t want to have to do that as it will decrease my motivation. I am trying to eat clean. I don’t eat any bread, buns, reg pizza crust, flower tortillas and have cut down on other grains like rice. I do eat fries, potatoes and sweet potatoes as carbs still, just reduced cabs a lot. Deceased sugar intake a lot too, trying to cut out but doesn’t work. Ketchup and BBQ sauce are needed most times.

I will definately have to go discuss with Nate soon. Want to optimize progress as much as possible while I’m motivated.

I’m down about 20lbs from a year ago. Goal right now is 175lbs another 10 lbs to go. Really getting rid of the belly fat is the goal vs overall weight.

I'm down just over 30 lbs over the past year or so. I do cardio (either treadmill in Winter or bicycle outside 7 miles) every day, and I do upper body on a Bowflex 3 days a week...pretty faithfully. My eating sucks this time of year...I'm in the woods a lot, and often fast food is an easy option after a day in the tree stand! I have a bad ankle from a 1983 injury, so less weight helps a lot!

So, I had my first follow-up visit post knee surgery. I’m cleared to return to the gym and do real light leg curls, extensions, etc. He does not want me performing full squats going forward, but light partials are good to go. He said when I hit the 16’ish week post mark, I can step it up some and go a bit harder.

Going forward or forever? If forever, I'd consider getting 2nd opinions. There are a lot of opinions out there that partial depth squats apply significantly more pressure on the knee than full depth squats because full depth utilizes the posterior chain more.

I am a Rippetoe fan so I could be bias.

and by partials, do you mean quarter squats? If so, I completely agree.

I always go below parallel, but very rarely do I go ass to ankles. It does involve the posterior chain more, but you get plenty activation and stimulation with below parallel squats.

I think I’m just going to really have to play it by feel; he may have said that so I don’t jump in and start doing heavy squats. It’ll be at least another 2 months before I can push weight a bit more on leg exercises. When I had my right knee operated on, I was able to begin squats (full) around the same time frame just so long as I had a super wide stance as it felt much better on the knee than SW stance. I’m just excited I can return and start with light exercises. I’ll probably be doing full body excerises a few days a week. Nothing big for a few weeks so don’t re-inure myself.

    Thinking-
One exercise for arms, 2 for chest and back, and 2 for legs?
    Thoughts?
