I think it’s all cheerful banter in here.
If you’re on a truck forum and you post that you sold your truck for a car, you can expect some sticks being poked. LOL
    :poking:
And if that car isn’t from the Toyota family, expect even more sticks to be poked LMAO.

You’re right that’s my bad. There’s so much hate in this country right now I just felt like I had to stand up for OP for no reason lol.

I had 2 GTI’s, and a Jetta. Buddies all had Jettas and GTi’s.
    That’s why I don’t recommend German

The OP purchased new, so reliability will probably not matter to him.

I think the new ride is an A5 Sportback which is a nice looking car. I guess I am lucky as I have my Tundra plus my Audi S7, completely different driving experience but I always am thankful I have my truck to get real things done. My Audi has been pretty reliable but the dealer has been telling me I due for new brakes soon, 32k miles, but they told me the same thing last year so just waiting to until the brake warning light pops on as I think they oversell stuff at the dealer.

Referring to the OP’s new ride? I’m pretty sure it’s a new Audi A4 2.0T.

The A5 sport back is beautiful! I was test-driving an A7 and the dealer was shuffling some in that day. They had a few of them flying around and I didn’t get the best look at them but from what I could tell from the exterior was pure sex :)

Jelly of your S7! That’s awesome

@Boosted4runner summed it up nicely. Just a joke and should be expected when you come on to a Tundra forum touting that you sold your rig to go buy a car.

Once the kids are gone, getting back into an S/RS. I really really really really miss my old S4 Avant 6 speed. Nothing better than a tiny car with a V8 up front. I used to call it my 150mph grocery getter.

I bet the guys claiming “unreliable” has never even owned an Audi lol. Audi as of late has really turned a corner on reliability, their Supercharged v6 has been proven to be a great engine. Wife just got out of her Camry and wanted something with 3 rows. We looked at 4 runner, sequoia and the Lexus offerings. Ended up taking home a Q7 and not a single regret yet, she absolutely loves it. Only reason we went Audi is because we have 3 different family members all with Audi’s over 100k miles and haven’t had any problems, only regular maintenance. Brakes were the only thing they complained about having to change more often than other vehicles. I don’t mind changing brakes 9B9EA690-EEEA-4E8C-9497-A6326D0B1A63.jpg

    Thank you!

already getting the itch again, which is a problem. I was debating between a white s4 that was far too (chromey) and this black a4. Decided this a4 because I love the black with gray wood, and in three years I'll apply the savings between the two models and jump to the new body style s6!

I did also drive the a5 sportback, but the sloping rear window was just too much for me. Couldn't see a thing.

Your car looks amazing. I was thinking of just changing the tires right now to Michelin Pilot Alpin Pa4 for the winter, but may do wheels and tires.

Any suggestions on tires? and what tint do you have on that Lexus?

And for everyone else-- Thank you, except the man card post lol jk

I've driven all of them. From two Tacoma's, this past Tundra, 2 BMW's and 3 Audi's. Love them all for different reasons.

My last Audi made it to 65k miles with 0 issues.

Although some part of me from the very beginning never wanted to mod my truck, and I almost feel that way about the Audi. Something to be said about factory finish.

I have the Tundra for winter and my wife has a Pathfinder for kids/winter - so Lexus is RWD with summer tires.
I’ve always ran the Hankook Ventus V12’s newest version. They’re a medium priced tire and are valued really well. They handle better than I can drive and wear decent. They’re grippy for most of their life.
My old Lexus could be thrown around so easy I went through 5 pairs of rear tires to 2 pairs of front tires over 70ishK miles (old IS350 was RWD staggered and new GS350 is RWD staggered). Both setups I went wider in the rear which really helped with traction. You’re limited to the square setup due to AWD. Be careful of potholes - if you’re down to 50% tread and pop a tire, you’re going with an entire new set of 4 LOL.
I vote new wheels and rubber!

ETA - on the tint, it’s 30% on the sides and rear - and did 80% front which I’ve always been against and thought was crazy until I tried it.
You can kind of tell in this pic comparing to Tundra windshield.

I've had two Audi's. Both were purchased with over 100K on the clock, and they were both incredibly reliable, and well built cars.

For normal maintenance like brakes and such, they are a pleasure to work on. The only special tools I had to buy was a set of triple squares.

The only CEL I ever had was because of a dirty MAF, but that was my fault for putting in a shitty K&N oiled filter (last time I'll ever use one of them).

I worked both cars HARD and never had any problems.

Let me expand on that a little.....

    Some specific model/years/engines are problematic.

Like the B7 S4 with the infamous timing chain tensioner issue. It doesn't effect all cars, but if it happens to yours the repair is $10K, if you can find a shop that is capable of doing it (and most people aren't going to do it themselves).

Then there was the cam follower and high pressure fuel pump issues with some of the 2.0 liter turbo cars.

Just do a little research before buying and you can own a truly great car.

That said, you still need a truck. Every man needs a truck.

Actually, it was the B6 and 7. Mine had it. fixed it and promptly popped a head off a valve when I was having some fun. New 4.2L long blocks ain't cheap......not even a little bit cheap. The crate they come in are furniture grade though, so at least they make you feel like they realize they bent you over a barrel.
