Will do after my warranty expires In 2 years. Looking hard at the auburn, but I already have the ARB compressor so I may go full ARB locker.

Thanks, but it sits most of the time until I can work it. Diesels are a two edged sword for sure that will cut you.

    They really are.

I have had really good luck with E-lockers as well.

I would rather have an LSD combined with Auto LSD. I have broken way too many lockers on the street let alone in the woods.

Cheap plastic interior? Compared to the big 3, My Toyota's interior is rock solid. I test drove the others just for shits and giggles and on these Louisiana roads, the others rattled like a can full of bb's. Thought the Ford and Ram dashes were going to fly off. the Chevy damn near did.

That is one of the things that makes an ARB so great. It is only a locker when you need it. The rest of the time, no extra drivetrain stress.

Diesel rumbling sciatica producing coffee spilling wife complaining cuts? lol

A bit off topic, but in your opinion, at what wet poundage would you go from 3/4 to 1T? And much ride difference between the two?

Edit: Congrats! Just noticed the title upgrade

I'm with ya on this subject. I think most Tundra owners feel the same way. Give me a kick ass sound system and a couple power ports and I'm good. The dependability, reliability, and value will always be there.

I wouldn't go 3/4 ton again. Had two of them in the past and it's just a bandaid if you ask me (for personal use). Now if you plan on business, that can change things.

I really can't say what weight, to be honest with you (but staying within your vehicles limits). Our geographical locations may differ by a lot. As a rule, keeping 15% off max capacity is a great place to start. Towing in the flats is a lot less complicated then mountain passes.

    Ride:

If I took the same two truck packages, one in a 3/4 ton and the other in 1 ton, the ride differences would be tire load rating (load index) is higher on a 1 ton. The suspension is usually the same except an over load spring on the 1 ton, which doesn't affect the ride. So to answer your question, the 1 ton does ride a little rougher.

I like the keyless entry and push start on my wife’s Lexus, do I need it? No. And since we don’t use an actionless proximity key entry, the fob on our trucks can’t be hacked to gain access by mimicking devices, been a rash of thefts by this method near Toronto.

3-1 level kit with add a leaf. 295/70/18r cooper max. Spider head light tail light and third brake light, tint, badges off, ladder racks, trd pro grill, color matched hood bulge, grab handle, coach builder +2, dv8 front bumper with winch, fender flares, bed cover....
They could spend $1000 more on decent radio and BA leaf springs. But no. Please no "park yourself" option. No 360 camera. No automatic trailer hook up. No 12 price tailgate with speakers and steps. We have a backup camera. And for 150 can get front camera. Our tailgates don't slam down and BA reliable strong fast truck. :militarypress:

And this is why I picked the Sony XAV-AX100. I wanted Apple CarPlay/Android Auto for the GPS navigation and music, but I also wanted a physical knob I could turn to adjust the volume without looking at anything.

If I have to use a touch screen to adjust the temperature in my truck I might lose my mind.

Going from a 1794 to a Pro - the only things I miss are the memory seats and the motorized passenger seat. I was getting WAY too dependent on the backup sonar and the BSM.
I'm a chronic upgrader (on my 4th Tundra since 2007) but that was because they kept getting cooler looking and the trade-ins were awesome. I kinda hope, knowing that Toyota is going to keep adding more driver tech to their trucks, they release some old school models. Cheaper and without the unnecessary driver assist tech. A TRD Retro or something...

^This. Every time I see some so-called "auto-journalist" give a review of a brand new truck, they spend more time talking about all the new features and tech (seats, auto-dimming mirrors, lane-departure warning, ect.).

Hardly anyone spends time going over the important stuff: frame constructions, suspension setup, electrical systems, brakes, drive line....that's the kind of stuff that is important to me as a truck owner. I don't need much in the way of creature comforts; I'd like heated seats, bluetooth for my phone and music, cruise control and that's about it.

I don't know how Ford outsells the Tundra; the F-150 has been lightened up and has a good diversity of engine options, but there is hardly anything about the underlying platform that indicates "over-built" or "long-lasting." I'd imagine that the truck bro's who want to listen to music and cruise down mainstreet find it appealing. True truck guys will go buy a Tundra or a HD because those seem to be the only ones which still prioritize true working capabilities.

All the nannies on my GMC Denali drove me crazy, spent more time trying to figure out how to disable them, traded it for 17 TRDPRO and love the "low tech" setup of the truck.
A few items that would be nice and wouldn't cost Toyota anything...
    4 auto up/down window switches
    Auto head lights

I believe both items are standard on Toyota's lowest priced car.

I agree with these items too. I was able to install the Auto Headlights myself but it would have been better if they were on there already.

If it's any consolation, the Tundra is the first full size pickup with the hydraulic tailgate (not a slam down tailgate) and Blind Spot. Back in 07, Toyota was the first with a 6 Speed Trans.

    Damn, these trucks are antiques.....:crapstorm:

Fleet sales. That’s how GM and Ford sell so many.

Hell, when I worked in our fleet department in 07’, a Cab and chassis F450 crewcab v10 was 27000.00. It’s the obvious choice.

That plus Ford sends quite a bit of their fleet to rental car companies. I could be wrong but i haven't seen a Tundra available for rent at a car rental place. I've seen new body style Tits, i mean Titans at an Avis car rental but i can't recall seeing a single Tundra.

Exactly. I would include that in fleet sales.

I have seen 4R in rental companies, but never a Tundra.

I don't think it's just because of fleet sales.

I think there's a lot of Ford owners who keep buying Ford's simply because they've always been Ford owners....it's a blind and very unwarranted brand loyalty, especially considering how many unreliable engines Ford has produced in recent history.
