GEN 3 (2022+) Wheels and Tires Photo thread

I am purchasing a 2023 tundra SR 5, was looking to upgrade the wheels and tires. Did not want to make mods to the truck. Would the following wheels and tires fit without rubbing?

Anybody have a recommendation for 3PMSF tires to replace Capstone's stock 265-50R22? I know I need to change tire size, but what will fit without a lift? 275/60R22? The 22" wheel are the problem, I'd love to go to a 17" wheel, but not until I get a lift and can run 35's comfortably, and I'm not committed to this truck, but just got my first 12" of snow of the year so need to do something.

 

I just had 275/70R18 Wildpeak A/T3W's put on my stock TRD OR rims. It was exactly what I was looking for as it doesn't stick out and it isn't so big to worry about any clearances. For those looking for something more aggressive without worrying about every detail, these look really good in person. They don't look too aggressive in the pic (and aren't compared to most of them here), but make it look like a truck compared to the stock Michelins. You could go to a 285 as well, but just adds more weight I didn't need to add.

 

Not yet, I’m looking at method 305 and 35” 12.50 wild peaks. Truck isn’t built yet until 11-22, I am just prepping

 

How'd that work out for you? After some feedback on here (thank you so much to the folks on this forum), I think I'm going to go that same route.

Looks great! I was on the fence about going -10 or 0 offset but I really like how the -10 looks on your truck. Hope I don't come off creepy but do you happen to live in M____mae? I live in the community across the street and I think I see your truck everytime I'm heading home.

 

how’s your mileage and ride? I did the exact same size but went with the grabber atx since they come in 275/70/18 in standard non-E load rating. Was too worried about weight and stiffness with E rating

 

I wanted SCS’s no matter what so had to settle on -10. It came out great and honestly like it more than I thought I would.

And yes! I’m indeed across the street lol. Come on by anytime!

 

To be honest, not sure yet. I only had 117 miles on the truck when they were put on so no idea on fuel mileage difference. It’s not a DD so wasn’t so worried about that. Ride seems to be good, but again, not enough time behind the wheel to really know.

 

Has anyone had any issue from the dealer ship putting on bigger tires?

I want to use the stock wheels and put on 35" tires. Just want to make sure it wont void any warranties or cause any issues when I bring it in for service with bigger wheels.

Also has anyone had to have their speedometers recalibrated for the larger wheel diameter to get a proper speed reading?

 

Zero issues at all, half the trucks they sell they put 35's on.

No way to recalibrate the speedo as of now, sometime soon hopefully the aftermarket will have a solution for us

 

It can most definitely void the warranty if the issue with the vehicle can be directly linked to the 35's. Warranty is determined by the manufacturer in this case which is Toyota. If a dealer opts to put on some 35's, that is considered a modification as the vehicle did not leave the factory like that. And unless explicitly stated by Toyota, (like how the TRD lift kits say they have warranty) it is not covered by warranty. 35's weigh much heavier than the stock tires equipped which adds extra strain to the powertrain. For example wheel bearings can go bad. The wheel bearing would not be covered under warranty because you can directly link the tires to causing extra stress on that component.

Now if you're having issues with a random oil leak coming from your valve cover, zero correlation whatsoever with the 35 inch tires so yes that would be covered.

 

Any videos on how to pin the felt? Or remove the support bar?

 

Hopefully these pics show enough to explain what I did.

I did not want to cut any felt at all. For the front, I unscrewed several screws securing the felt to lower bumper and fender. I unscrewed the bracket seen pic and and simply folded it up and screwed it back in. I also put two push pins to left side of the felt for extra security.

Rear of the front wheel well…I removed crash bracket and drilled/enlarged the hole behind the push pin you see on bottom left of pic. I hit it quickly with black spray paint and once dried, I inserted the push pin.

Zero rub….

 

Those look great. Are you still at stock height, no lift or level? Any rubbing at full lock?

 

Completely stock truck. No rubbing at all.

 

Do these also have the three snowpeak rating?

 

Yes, they are not the Toyota factory supplied Wildpeak A/T3w's, but the real ones.

Sorry for the delayed response. No rub and hardly any poke. As far as size, they are technically 34s on 17 inch rims. I believe the offset is -12 according to the site.

I've always appreciated the engineering in Volks TE37's but never owned a Japanese vehicle before so looking for feedback on their TE37 XT line of wheels in a 17" x 8.5" but not sure of offset as I do not plan on lifting this thing more than 3" with 35" max tires. Not a fan of alot of "poke" as my 2005 Silverado has 35's and unsure of the offset wheels throw a ton of gravel that my stock Z71 flares can't deflect.

Would -10mm or -20mm work ok? Most likely Toyo Open Country tires as I've had nothing but good luck on my '05 Z71.

Thinking of putting 20x9 +20 wheels and 37x11.5 nitto grapplers. Anyone put this combo? Wanted to see the poke as I don't wanna any. Here in Hawaii safety checks require thread to not have any poke.

 

Thank you! Looks like the same amount of poke on my Silverado which isn't a bad thing but after 140K miles and 18 years, the rock chips add up lol.

I’m at +12 offset and wish I could could get my wheels (essentially Volk knock offs) or volks in a 20-35mm offset. The 12 offset isn’t great for mud/ dirt/ rock slinging and a 0 or negative is going to be wayyyyyyyyyy worse
