Did you have to do anything to get TPMS readings for each tire?

Cant say for sure as I didn't do the install but if I remember correctly the installer told me the info comes from the OBD2. I now get the PSI and tire temperature.

Love the installation under the seats. That looks really clean.

One note - I saw from the reflection on the HU that you still have the factory interior lights. LED interior lamps are cheap, easy to install, and look so much prettier. You can get a whole set on Amazon for ten bucks, and they take ten minutes to swap out.

Damn thats a nice headunit!!! How did they keep steering controls? I just started looking around and saw some other unit people buy in addition to their HU.

I've been wanting to but don't know which ones to get. I don't want them to extremely bright and read a few threads where people said they have issues with certain bulbs. Can you provide a link to a set of LED's that aren't too bright?

I’ve got these in mine. Used them in my last truck and my wife’s also. There may be better ones, but I’ve had no issues whatsoever. The ones in my old truck have been in for years. Has enough for the license plate light also.

Longer list than the wife needs to know about....
I can't decide if I love or hate this head unit.... typically I don't like things that look unfinished, I do like the increased size, features, and sleek look. Reminds me of a Tesla Model 3 interior.... Just not sure how I feel about it.
Love the rest of your setup tho. Was there a fit kit you purchased for your amps? or did you fab that yourself? that looks awesome.

finally someone said it, i didnt want to be the first...

that particular head unit, in every installation ive seen (not just tundra) it looks like an after thought. i actually saw some dude put one in a 911 (993) and it looked horrendous.
(not shitting on this guys install, he did a great job, just my personal option about the aesthetics of this particular HU)

I know what you mean. I myself wasn’t sure I wanted to go that route for the reasons mentioned above but I figured if Tesla, Mercedes and many other manufacturers use similar “floating” screens as factory set ups why can’t I. It’s been in there for a few weeks now and I can honestly say I love it. I’d go the same route if I did it again.

A lot has to do with the quality of the source unit and the DAC you run that unit through. I ran an iPad in my Scion for a while and it never sounded better. The McIntosh and Onkyo music players allow for both HiRes and DSD files to be played through them and with the right process it could be world class.

In just my observation, I noticed that the alpine was installed on the top half of the double dim and with that you've installed the screen all the way pushed down. However you sill have the screen sticking above the dash. Wouldn't it be better to have the HU install on the buttom half of the double time and adjust the screen accordingly? That way its more flush to the dashboard. Have a look at this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhjl4lnrWBU. FF to 13:28 where he talks adjustment of the screen.

Again, it's just a thought. I am looking forward to your future reviews on it.

    Custom made by the installer.

I wanted the radio to be in a similar location to the stock. I may pull it out and try different positions to see how it works.

    Quick update

Had a friend tinker with the adjustments and wow what an improvement. The 6x9’s are performing amazing. The high are so much brighter and even the subs improved but I still think they can get better. Overall sounds very impressive and only gets better the more I get familiar with this head unit.

This is Awesome. I'm about to do a similar HU install in my 2014 (either this one or an iLX-107). Did your's have stock JBL Nav system before? Also, they show an Obvious Tundra dash on one of Crutchfield videos on this thing, and they show Climate control and Seat heat/cool functions working. Can you tell me what other functionality (along with the Tire Pressure/Temp you mentioned) you DID get with the iDatalink Maestro?

I had the non jbl system in my truck. As you can see I did a full system so nothing of the original equipment was retained. Aside from the factory steering controls I got the speedo, rpm, tire pressure/temp and fluid temps. Its been a while since i got it installed and I can honestly say I love it. Good luck with what you end up with.

    Thanks for the input yoneytan!
Got mine installed in less than 4 hours last Friday. I’m loving it. Only issue I’m having is the speedo is about 10% slow. I have a support request out to iDatalink. Here are a couple photos of how I positioned it.

Congrats, looks great. FYI the speedo gets the info from the OBD2. Mine for instance shows about 4mph slower than it really is but thats because of my 295/70 and the fact that I never recalibrate my speedo. Not sure if thats your case as well.

Ya I love music and I drive quite a bit so I had to upgrade the audio as well. Did two 10’s, door speakers and everything else. Was somewhat of a budget setup but I’m happy with it
