now I’m wondering if I should have asked if it could be printed without screw holes. I don’t have any bolts on my console. Hope it doesn’t look out of place.

The version I designed requires through-bolts to attach it. I know that CN Designs has one that uses blind holes from underneath.

The M3 screw heads are pretty small - I don’t think it’ll be noticeable

I plan on wandering the hardware aisles as Ace until I find something that works with my interior. I don’t have any of the exposed bolts either, but like Casey said, they probably won’t be noticeable in that spot. Also thinking I could epoxy some bolts in, then sand/prime/paint the assembly with the bolts installed.

You COULD tap the holes from the bottom side, but would need a way to lay them out (CN Design makes a template for the blind-hole version). Don’t over tighten the screws and you’re fine. Maybe drill the holes in the console, then fill the top pocket with epoxy putty before you do the sand/primer/paint…

I actually had the CN Designs one before but thought I was going to go a different route. His had nutserts or whatever you want to call them pressed into the bottom which made it really secure to screw from the bottom. I’ve already got my card holder area cut up with a filler plate that I glued in place after removing the switch holder. Shouldn’t be hard to make something work with with Adam’s offering.

I actually preferred to have the socket heads exposed and not flush. Gave me a bit of peace of mind to not have anything accidentally slide into the switch. Probably not a good reasoning but I like the look having them exposed.

The switch panel is unpainted in this pic, correct? It’s a damn close match to the AJT trim. I have the same AJT trim, so I may just skip the paint.

I have used my back window more in the last week than I had in the two years owning the truck combined. The original switch placement was so inconvenient......now it is easily accessible and I use it all the time

You guys won’t be disappointed; just take your time sanding and making it smooth. Paint if you want but I like the matte look and don’t see the need to paint it. It matches pretty well as is. Appreciate the offerings of members like @abomb60 to give us cool mod ideas that are functional

Did all the wiring to relocate the three switches that will go in the new holder. That was a bitch and a half, especially the rear window one. Hilariously, even with the switch loose and just hanging out of the hole, it’s still a better setup than where Toyota put it.

I actually didn’t have to remove the dash; I popped the trim piece and used a long flathead screwdriver to undo the window switch from the original location. Reached back and plugged in the relocation harness……used a coat hanger as a fish to grab and guide the wire through the steering column and behind the center console. Just saying it is possible to do without having to take apart the whole dash and steering column…..

I should have just bought the relocation harness, but I went cheap and hacked up the factory wiring. It worked for me since I plan to keep this truck forever, so any gremlins I create I’m ok dealing with. I had to open up other parts of the dash to move my nanny bypass and light bar switches.
