I don't know what you are asking, but if you use iHacker's harness and follow the installation instructions, the lights and DRL will function exactly as those on an '18 truck.

I guess my question is about the amber, on a 18 is it on when the LED DRLs are on? I know he offers two harnesses one with amber and no DRL dimming which comes on when ignition is on ACC, is the other harness the same configuration as factory 18?

No, I believe that on a stock 2018 the amber is not used as a DRL at all, only as a turn signal. With iHacker's harness and provided instructions your's will be identical.

Sorry for the delayed response Thank @dsimonl and @Azblue for your help I guess they have you covered with your question, the new 2018 Trucks don’t use the ambers in the center as DRL they are used only as turn signals

Depending in your choice both of my harnesses for Non-LED trucks can replicate the 2018 trucks function with ambers only as turn signals or you can also have ambers and LED as DRL that’s up to you my thread includes the instructions for both scenarios

The only difference is one uses a fuse tap so LED turn on with the key in ACC position and never dim with headlights

And the other keeps factory style using the OEM DRL wiring and functionality

The new headlights look amazing and the harness was just built to be the easiest install. It wa built with high quality materials and everything being labeled made the install a breeze. The worst part of the install for me was getting the wire through the firewall. Didn’t have the correct tools so had to improvise. Other than that it went flawless. Thank you iHacker for making this harness!!!

Probably would have slowed me down too if I didn’t decide to leave mine connected because I feel like the yellow running lights are a tundra signature.

Well after a week of night driving I notice that my drivers side headlight is higher then my passenger side. So I had to dial the motors down, when I do that an I come to a hill or at an incline I notice the pattern throws 2 box type patterns in front of the truck about 20 feet in front, I guess being I have them dialed down! So with that said, yes the drivers square is higher then the passenger!

Any input how I can correct this, unfortunately my driveway is slanted and not level! I heard someone mention that I can check how they are dialed in on my take offs and copy those setting to my new one, setting them with a screw driver I assume, unless there is an easier way!

Would I set the inside dials to 0, then set the lights manually!

    Any help thanks!

Michael @geno0506 you are not alone. My driver's side was also higher than my passenger side...so here's what I did...
First, since I read on the thread about other's driver side being higher than passenger, I marked the aim of my stock headlights on my garage door with painter's tape before removing them (including the distance in my driveway and position of my tires). I read a lot, so I found a video "how to" in thread #325 on this page:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/201...-harness-sales-thread-eledobleu.17008/page-11

After I removed the stock headlights, I noticed a white adjustment knob where the leveler motors are on the back of each headlight case that would be toward each fender when installed. There is also a guide that looks like a funnel going from the top of the adjustment knob to the top of the light fixture. When installed, you can used a Phillips head screwdriver passed through this "funnel" to reach the adjustment screw which will move the headlight up or down.

So, after installing the '18 LED headlights, I backed out of the garage to the tire marks in the driveway and turned on the headlights and marked the position of the new lights. I wasn't sure whether the adjustment would fight the headlight adjustment motors, so before I made an adjustment I turned off the lights, adjusted and then turned them on again. It was pretty much trial and error at that point, but only took about 5 minutes to adjust - I turned it several turns to see if I could make it change and then if it was the wrong way, I just turned it the other way.

I only had to adjust the driver side down a bit, so it was easy. Passenger side was spot on.

I hope this helps. check out the video.

WOW Chuck, thanks for the heads up, about how long of Phillips would I need to get in there, may have to buy a longer one being I only have smaller in length! Since mine are already installed do you think I should lower them from inside the cab and then adjust!

    much appreciated brother

So if I have switchback DRLs can I reuse them in the 18 headlights and have the same functionality?

I’m sorry for the delay in my response Michael, well if you didn’t mark your hotspots for old headlights before removing them a good idea to start is measuring the high from headlights to do that measure tape the distance from the floor to the mark dots in each headlight that’s the target measures to mark in your wall using painters tape, after getting that just level your headlights with the painters tape , your truck must be at at least 25FT distance from wall to get a perfect leveling. Passenger side must be 1-2” higher than driver side

Here a good video I always share for this, really easy to do

Something I forget is to mention that before start doing this place your leveling know in Zero then manually do the process mentioned before

Yes they should work without any problem just leave the gray wire in place to keep your Amber DRL

Hello fellow Tundra owners, new member to the forum.

2017 1794 Silver Sky 4x4 (pics and build info to follow)

First off I want to thank everyone that has contributed to the 18" LED headlight conversion with detailed info, diagrams etc. I completed my conversion and it was a piece of cake with all the info you guys have provided. I do have one odd question I did the re-pin on both turn signals and the passenger side is error-free flashes normal. On the driver side, I have the hyper-flash. I have replaced the bulb (standard bulb) and it still hyper-flashes.

Is there any further trouble-shooting, I might look into?
