Got my harness and headlights in and I have a problem. Everything works fine except for my driver side high beam. I’ve unhooked the battery and tried to reset. I’ve checked both plugs and wires all the way from headlight to morimoto for loose wires and still nothing, no flicker or anything.

Anybody have any additional troubleshooting to try? I’m going to flip the headlight over to the other side to make sure the actual high beam works next.

Ok flipped headlights and the high beam works fine in the actual headlight and it’s off on the one that worked.

Is there a fuse for high beam per side and if not I must have an harness issue I guess unless somehow the low beam high beam may have been switched when labeled? Would the headlight still function?

Ok found the fuses and both are good, even switched them out for the spare to make sure. Pointing to the harness now.

Swap harnesses and see if it’s a harness problem.
Could also be a bad motocontrol

Thanks Inferno, swapped harnesses and no luck, must be the motocontrol. I’ll PM eledoblue and see if I can’t get another on the way. Hopefully it’s just that and I don’t have to undo all the wiring.

Alright, got the headlights, harness and started the process, but have so far been very unsuccessful in being able to do the repining of the turn signal. I've followed the instructions, but cannot get the wire to come out.....ideas? Thoughts? Rational suggestions?

I just finished the install on mine. The trick is you have to use a tiny flat blade screwdriver like this. It fits in the groove of the little tab that holds the pin.

Make sure the white lock tab is removed, watch this vid around. 2:28 different connector same principle.

I too was having difficulties with the re-pin due to misunderstanding how to press the little tab. Inferno sent me this video which did the trick and easily allowed me to get the wire out. Pay attention around the 2 minute 38 second area.

My small flat head screwdriver was still too big and ended up using a long push pin similar to the one in the video.[/QUOTE]

Just want to follow up and share my fix for my high beam issue in case anyone else runs into this issue. Thanks to eledoblue for the quick response and narrowing down the issue quickly.

If the lights work correctly but your missing low, high, or the LED’s it may be an issue in the 9006 connector shown in the photo. Make sure when you connect these connectors on the harness to the Fuse Relay and Motocontrol you make sure the pins are properly aligned. My high beam was not and they can still push together even not seated correctly.

Now I just have to chase down where the headlight adjustment screw is and I’m done!

Thanks so much Inferno, Milkman and BayRunner! Watched the vid and saw what I was doing wrong and then easy peasy. Install complete and lights working like a charm and pics to follow!

There seemed to be a problem with one of the companies I order the 9006 connectors from which didnt allow the pins to seat correctly. I have since switched companies so now the harnesses wontr have that issue anymore.

Does anyone know how to unpin gray wire? The plastic connector seems impenetrable!!!

Just installed mine and I have the same problem. I thought I saw on one of these threads how to adjust, but can't find it now.

eledobleu Are you going to do a Black Friday thing, should I wait a week? Also, I currently have LED rear turns and switchback fronts so I run a single 3ohm V-led resistor per side. The new 2018 headlights come with a standard bulb (from what I can Tell) so would I need to swap that for a 6ohm or install LED 7444's in the front turns?

Sorry to beat a dead horse.

So how are a 2018 sr5 and 2018 limited different under the hood?

Is there a whole different sub harness and additional relays to drive the LED headlights on sr5 vs limited?

In 2018, the harness and electronics to drive the LED DRL's are there in all trims. But the base trucks (SR/SR5) have H4 halogen headlamps.

    Thanks,
    Andy

I left my purple wire in the middle (without cutting the gray wire inside) and have no issues. Love having the amber on with the DRLs.

    Thanks to everyone!

The 2018 SR5 and limited on up both have different harnesses since they are different LED’s

    Hi Everyone,

Last week I ordered the harnesses from eledobleu's sight. Other than a receipt I have not received a confirmation of shipment nor have I been able to get a hold of him through pm's.

How long did it take for your to receive your harness's and controller once your order was placed?

    Thanks.
