My new truck with less than 300 miles is doing this. Only clicks the first couple feet, 15-20 feet, right or left. One POP.. doesn't seem to pop after that, but always after each time I start my car and drive.

And I thought my Chevy had problems.. roll eyes.

I’m a ase L1 master technician out of Hawaii so this problem everyone is experiencing is a design flaw in the brakes Tacoma’s and tundras with the four piston fixed caliper systems will be affetected so to verify this have someone put the truck in drive roll coward to load the front end stop while pressing the brake and loading the front end have the assistant turn the wheel right to left lock to lock while holding the caliper watch not to get your arm caught between the wheel and spindle you’ll feel movement going through the rotor pads and calipers so far every Tacoma and tundra I’ve done this to made noise from 2005 to 2018 and there is no tab or recall for this issue so when you take your trucks in show the writer the noise and let me know what they say I’m just curious

My brand new 2019 tundra does exactly the same thing! Took it back to the dealership, and it wouldnt happen there on a test drive, so they never even put it on a lift to check anything! Of course it hasnt stopped happening for me. Usually happens coming out of my driveway as I turn? And randomly turning at a stop sign. Did you u find the cause?

I have a 2013, doing the same thing. I have scoured the internet at this point. I found another thread on here, about this, mine is Definitely not a suspension issue, sounds like someone dropping tic tac on the dash. They say that the fix is to push thick pieces of velcVe between the front of the dash and the bottom of the windshield. This makes sense to me, mine could for sure be the 2 pieces rubbing. I will be trying the fix as soon as I get home.

Same clicking/rattling noise but i don’t have a skid plate. Super annoying. 2018 and I have heard it since it only had 400 miles
Any suggestions? Dealer says everything is fine.

Same issue on mine. Not the abs. Clunk when accelerating slowly or hard, even braking but all at low speeds.
Took the Toyota tech for a joy ride to show him, he eventually got his ears tuned in and said he could also hear it.
He took it back to the shop and when I called the service advisor he said the technician said we couldn’t reproduce the noise on our test ride. Stupid effing c***s.
I’ve taken it to them twice for the issue - no joy.
Replaced the front coil overs, UCA’s and disconnected the sway bar - noise still there, definitely got worse over the past year.
It’s driving me nuts has 17000 when I purchased it and now a year later only 22000 so everything is pretty much new

I have a new 2019 with 1500 miles. Since day one, I hear (maybe) and feel (definitely) thru the wheel and floor board a pop like a spring popping from released tension. Only happens once after starting the truck and moving a few feet at a slow rate of speed. Its a very faint feel and sound so I have not been too concerned. The sound is not heard or felt any other time but happens every time we start the truck and beginning to roll. Turning the wheel doesn't matter. Happens turned or straight. I assume its a normal thing. Have not asked the dealer to look at it. It doesn't seem like an issue worth messing with actually.

I agree with your comments. I have a brand new 2019 with 800 miles on it and it too pops when moving forward whether turning or not. Earlier posts noticed it around 6-7mph. Mine pops around the 6mph mark. I’m going with the thought of it being the ABS check until I start hearing it repeatedly at higher speeds.

Funny thing is I had this same issue, until I lifted my truck. As soon as I did this the pooping went away. Maybe has to do with the UCAs since I swapped those out as well.

My skid plate turned out turned out to be the culprit. Watch this video to verify if this is the noise you’re hearing. Im taking to dealership to have them add spacers. https://youtu.be/bgLBBwW7O-s

Thanks for the video. My Pro has just recently started making this popping noise. Or, I've just started to notice it. I tried to tighten every bolt on the skid plate and they all seem to be pretty tight. I'll try to remove the rear ones and see if I can get some rubber shimmed in there. I'll report back.

I was 20 feet out of the parking spot of the dealer with my new '20 PRO and I heard the noise. It only pops once, always after a startup. It's a mild sound I attributed to something getting started/staged or whatever. Always within the first 15/20 feet.

My 2014 has the same problem, pop/clunk when pulling out of driveway and sharp turns. I'm pretty sure it's the LCA's needing to be retorqued. I've deleted my swaybar and skid plate so there is no way those are the problems. I'll try to retorque soon and see if that fixes it

Let’s hope so, my clunk wasn’t so much in turning as it was stopping a a stop sign or backing out ok a parking spot and hitting the brakes

For anyone having noises like this try going under the hood and giving the fuse box a jiggle. Its the box on the firewall in front of the passenger. I had same noise until i put a zip tie on , securing the box tightly to the mounting bracket

Mine is a 2018 trd 4x4 and since new Iv also heard a poping sound as if a loose shock or hood latch not catching the hood right. Soulds like its coming from passanger side. Almost sound like a double bounce at times. Kind of driving me crazy too. Happens more in cold at slow speeds when going over covered pot holes or rail road tracks even crossing intersection where it has a slight dip. I think that when cold rubber shrinks and something to due with either rubber bushing that is held by loose bolt can eventually cause it to sound like that, when the day is sunny and warm dont hear it much. Could be the rubber stoper that tension the hood . who knowshope its figured out. I went to the passenger front wheel well and banged on it closest to light on inside and heard somthing on the inside dribble could that be it didnt have time to take of plastic wheel well will come around to it soon.

Mine wound up being the skid plate. I loosened it up, snatched off some rubber from impact gloves and jammed that between skid plate and crossmember. Noise is gone
