Just clean up the fluid off any paint real well. No big deal though

Brake fluid overflowing out of the reservoir cap means it was topped off with worn brakes. Situation normal if that's the case. With the new brakes and the fluid at the full mark you shouldn't need to add any fluid unless there's a leak.

Spongy pedal means you probably still have a little bit of air trapped in the system. Try bleeding it then activating the ABS with a good stomp or two on a gravel road, seems to do the trick for ABS equipped systems.

The brakes were just bled about a week ago with pads that were used for about 10k miles. I'll see if things firm up after a quick ride...

Our trucks can be a pain to get bled properly. I'm sure you know this already, don't forget to bleed the LSPV out back.

Quick shake down starting with easy stops and then progressing to "spirited" stops. Brakes firmed up, not sure if they are quite as firm as before. Then onto a dirt road to stomp on the brakes: felt a rapid pulsing which I guess is the calipers closing and opening which indicates the abs is working I guess? After that slamming of the brakes, I had smoke coming out of the wheel well. I assume that is the fresh brake coating coming off and nothing to be concerned about?

Overall brakes feel pretty good and maybe with a little time might bite harder.

Actually I have never bled the brakes on this vehicle. When my timing belt was done about a week ago, I had the shop do it so I figure it was done pretty well.

Thanks for the offer as always. I figured that this is an easy job and can't be messed up.

Update: Drove down the local mtn road today and zero pulsating. Now lets hope these rotors last more than 10K.

I got up there with my dog at about 6 am. Parked at Marshall Gulch and hiked to the Wilderness of rocks. Came back down around 10 am or so.

Hey @robabeatle , just wanted to check in on how the Cryo’s are treating you? Have the breaks firmed up more since your last post? Appreciate the info you’ve provided. Having to replace my warped front rotors soon. Thanks!

I'm curious if it's worth it to get my calipers rebuilt? I like the reliability of OEM and worry about problems down the road with aftermarket. Am I wrong here?

You can always rebuild them and clean them up, if you have the time to take to do that. Unless you do a BBK, Factory will always be better than aftermarket.

They sell rebuild kits but I'm not sure how hard it is to do it yourself. Might be worth a try though.

I just bought Left and Right sides. I think they were $80 a piece. Not worth my time rebuilding them myself. And when your in the rust belt, a nice brand new coat of paint on the rebuilds has value.

Hey rust can be good sometimes. To upgrade to the 13WL calipers I didn't have to trim my backing plates. Mother Nature took care of that for me along time ago:rofl::rofl::rofl:
