It was a corona, so at least you're not still popping twistoffs. Rings work great, but they're not for me. Grandpa jumped off a tractor and caught his wedding ring on somethin, lived the rest of his days with 9 digits. When I was young, my father shorted an electrical circuit with his and as it immediately turned lava orange and melted thru his skin and was hanging on bone, he cut it off with wire-cutters. kept his finger, never wore another ring. I've smashed one on my finger and had to cut it off, escaped with a minor cut.
GOOD GOD MAN! You sure it was the wet sock and not the dizzyness from blood loss? Are you anemic?
Okay, you wanna just answer the questions before I have to ask? As @Sunnier mentioned, you call yourself the questionable decision maker, but we need details for credibility. What exactly do you mean by "wrong tool bad choice"? Entertain us please.

So I was in a hurry for a last minute / about to close Costco run for a TV that I was hanging that night. I don't remember why it was an emergency at the time. I grab a cart and I'm going. Cart has this F-ed tire that is almost off. The duro 200 rubber type. Too stupid to leave it and just get another cart, I pull out the baby Spiderco keychain folder. The blade is literally 3/4" of an inch. Way too small to control for any kind of forceful cut. Once the tire, with a lot of force, let the blade pass - I followed through strait into my calf. It was such a clean shive, I didn't know I just stabbed myself.

I love this topic. It was such a frustrating thing during weekend rides that I tossed this on about 16 years ago.

Placed in a vice, bent a slight angle in it. Has opened many a beer.

I think that fact that there was design and fabrication involved, makes you the winner. Er wait... does that mean you cheated? @Sunnier - we're gonna need an official ruling here. I think i may have just both nominated and disqualified this genius on accident

Are you still riding that bike 16 years later. I’d LOVE that!

Well, I just admitted to loving it because/ if he holds on to things of actual value. That’s a 1st gen kinda value for sure.

But I’m not the final judge, just a facilitator. I’ll go add it and see how the peanut gallery votes.

Edit: the cool bicycle mod isn’t eligible, because it is— although the mounting location is cool, and met an important need— a bottle opener. Cool though.

yes, yes I am. I built it in 2006 and have thousands of miles on it and just as many memories.

Funny you asked if I was still riding it… last weekend i just installed new rear tire and replaced the hydraulic brake lines.

 I’m feeling so much favouritism right now. I remember early 2000’s, being poor and reading “Bike” magazine in my chiropractor’s office. I can still appreciate how cool it is that you built your own!
