For all of you critical of the price, do a search on Autotrader or other car search apps and look at what they are demanding. A loaded 2014 with over 100K miles is going to be $28k-$32K. Anything under 100k miles will be over $30.

Oh I'm sure the price might be within reason. I just wouldn't pay $34k for that vehicle. I'd much rather find a clean GX470...

Nice FJ but no way would I pay that money. Plus, if you want it to retain a high value then your going to have to keep the miles low and keep it just as clean. I prefer to have something I'm not as worried about using it for what it's intended for. Also, the suicide rear is a no go from my point of view. My wife had an Element at one time and that door drove us nuts. Espially parked between two cars and trying to get something or someone in and out of the back.

Used bare bone Wranglers bring crazy prices here in Denver...better to buy a FJ IMHO.

Yeah, buddy. I'm waiting for the right moment to pounce on one. Eyeballing some Land Cruisers too. We'll see.

How long are you going to keep it? I bet you could get the price down a little: if you drive it to 200,000 miles, you're making money.

That's like 20 cents/per mile to own the vehicle. I GUARANTEE you that people on this site have paid more per mile for their used Tundra.:notsure:

The issue is 'do you fit/are you comfortable' and 'do you like/want it?'

Ultimately, that's all that matters. 30,000 miles is a new FJ.;)

Let us know what you do ...

Buy it. You will love it.
Many sell them and end up buying another cause they miss it.
    FJ’s are awesome.
I got a 2010 and a 2014 in the garage with the Tundra.

Hi guys. I own both a fj and now as of 3 weeks ago a tundra. These vehicles are so different the fj is a monster off road and with its smaller profile you can just about go anywhere in it. I bought it brand spanking new in 2007 and three days in I had it up to the mirrors in the Everglades. I am no way doing that to the tundra. Maybe it’s because I grew up...maybe...but I will still take the fj to the swamp. My fj now has 280000 miles on it with no major engine issues. She now could use just about every seal replaced but that’s expected. So as far a a reliable truck I would say yes. But I will say I just bought my 2018 Trd sport with 10500 miles for $36k so idk but damn that fj is fun.

That's the price that only particular Toyota die hards will possibly spend. It's not a collectors item.

Price is about right. I loved my fj and hated to get rid of it, but pretty much got out of it value wise what I had in it. They have held their value ridiculously.

The only reason I got rid of mine besides really wanting a truck for practical reasons, was it was a complete rust bucket underneath. Something you need to investigate for sure if you decide to buy one, especially if it's one of the model from the first years.

I liked the FJ til I drove one, I wasn't very impressed and the interior was just cheap plastic that was all scratched up.
I don't think you can spend $20k on a 470 anymore, but for $34k you can find a nearly new GX460 like this one: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/walnut-creek-2017-lexus-gx-460-premium/7040057563.html

Or buy a 6 year old GX460 one for $24k and put $10k worth of mods in it an beat any FJ out there.

I wonder if they’ll have the frame issues the Taco’s and Tindras had. They definitely rust like hell underneath.
