Found a 2014 Black FJ Cruiser for sale with only 30,000 miles on it. Toyota Certified too. Dealer asking $34K. I've always loved the FJs trying to debate on whether or not i should pull the plug on it.

    Opinions?

Nice vehicle, but not a chance I'd spend $34K on it.

Price is ridiculous. but to find an FJ with only 30K miles on it is almost impossible.

Sad thing is, i wasn't even in the market, yet the stupid facebook ads know my weaknesses and posted it. My dumbass clicks it and now i've got the fever hahaha.

I love my FJ. That price seems high but they hold their value. Only vehicle I own that hasn’t depreciated as I put on miles. Mine has 14k

How do you like it compared to the Tundra? I've only ever owned Tacoma/Tundra. Trying to get a feel for it.

Depends what you want it for. If you're going to modify it then it's a hard no. If you're looking for a clean stock ride and can negotiate the price down, that's a nice find.

Those and Tacomas seem insanely priced compared to Tundras, that's why I got a Tundra to start.

meh..tight trunk space, suicide doors and bad rear view. Good for a single guy or young couple but that's it.
I would take a 4R over it especially at $34K...

would definitely do some mods over time as the funds come in.

Currently it's just me and my dog. Occasionally my gf and her dog as well.

I have a neighbor with a FJ: she has 30,000 miles on it and says its worth more now than what she payed for it.

    Here's the deal:

    1) These are in high demand and hold their value; you can always sell it later, if necessary. I think it qualifies as a collectible.
    2) They can go anywhere and drive like a little tank.
    3) You're single, and you're asking if you should buy it? MINUS 15 MAN POINTS
    4) Have you ever sat in one? I'm 6'2", and I can't see out of the front glass. They have a restricted view out of the windshield.
    5) Don't worry about the restricted rear view: those are people you have passed.

Verdict: Uga barked out a "Yes, dumbass, buy it now!" [Only Georgia or SEC fans will get this.]

    YMMV

id buy a newer car for $34k. yeah FJ may hold value but only to certain buyers its only worth what someone is will to pay for it. thats my 2 cents

Agree 150%. The suicide doors alone would drive me crazy on a day to day basis. 4R instead for sure.

Well, @RebelRide93, you didn't say you were trading the Tundra: ALL man card privileges revoked.

Yeah, you might as well quit thinking about this: unless you can defy the law of physics, you will never a) feel comfortable or b) see out of an
    FJ Cruiser.

But, it was a nice fantasy while it lasted.

P.S. Hope you don't do this with girlfriends too.:monocle:

I'm 6'4 and recently traded my 2012 FJ in when I got my 2019 TRD PRO. I paid $32500 for it and put on 47,000 before trading it in this past summer. Dealership gave me $20,000 for it. Not sure what they sold it for, but saw the asking price was $29,500. They are cool lil SUVs, can drive thru nearly anything when properly equipped. Only downside is they are a bit cramped on the inside

Love the FJ. Here is mine from my Cali wheeling days. Even went to the FJ summit event in Ouray, CO in 2011 with it. The @RelentlessFabrication FJ bumper was designed on this rig when he was in Oregon still. The photographer jumping out of the way is @jlee from BAMF.

Could you pull up to a stoplight and see the 'green' come on without ducking your head down? Cuz, I couldn't when I drove one.

I am thinking that, maybe, you are SKINNY: is that true?

When I drove it, I weighed 330 lbs. [Hey, be kind, I also could rep 405 in the bench and do high reps with 405 in the deadlift. Think fat AND strong, asshats.]

    I guess I wasn't as bendable as you.:notsure:

I like them all. I also have a 2000 tundra. My tundras are mainly used for work. The 5.7 is great compared to the 4.0.

The 4runner depreciates @$800+/year compared to the FJ in same year and mileage.

I sold a 2008 Trail Teams addition back in the spring. It was garage kept and only had 20,000 miles on it. I had bought it new 10 years ago.

Buy it keep it for 10 yrs and sell it for what you paid for it. I dont think these are going to make a come back. And around here that's a good deal on one all things considered.

The FJ will be back again at some point, after all they said the FJ/Cruiser would wouldn't ever be made since the early ones.. Very capable 4X4. They go for a premium here in Colorado for good reason. Much more substantial than a Wrangler. Wranglers still suck as a DD. Have doubts??? Come out to CO for next years CO FJ Association annual meet at Toytec and see what can be done to a FJ and commiserate with some FJ wheeling pros.:mudding:

What’s your use for it? I want one as an off-road toy, it’s perfect for off-roading as it is small and narrow in width than anything else Toyota has that is considered off road worthy. I’m sure you can get the price down.

Then the only deal breaker is how many people you have in your family, it’s tight in there, unless you can deal with it then it’s perfect.
