When the Van Nuys plant was winding down my friend accepted a buy out. Got full pension and 6 months pay up front. I remember he bought a Fat Bob Harley with cash and went somewhere.....

It is funny how the Ford fanboys can only come up with 2 knocks on Tundras. One is MPGs (kinda legit) and number 2 is price. I have not seen the price one lately. I shut them down by stating that OTD is all that matters. The big 3 way over inflate MSRPs to make people think they are getting a deal.

.....and also inflate mpg's with a 3.70 rear gear or worse...

if people are complaining of mpg on trucks they should get their head checked. All of them guzzle...its splitting hairs. A couple less Starbucks frappachinos will make the difference in a week.

I'm subscribed on Ford and Ram, 80% of their threads are about issues...while on this forum 80% is about what mods to do. Different animals.

.....or here.... fastest color and "outdated", although some folks want their trucks to be fully Nanniefied. It's getting pretty hard to avoid Prius' getting to that soccer game without computer help. .... :crapstorm::thumbsup:

If I wanted to die by a rear ended caused fire I'd chose a first year rare convertible Corvair over the Pinto:thumbsup:

    A bunch
If we're comparing the big gas engines then yeah, they're all close enough one doesn't stick out. But from what I've seen the diesel models do pretty well - they're in the same territory as my wife's Tucson from the actual drive reviews I've watched. If it wasn't for the emissions they'd be sipping fuel. I definitely want to try and drive one some day to feel how they do, I'm curious if the engine feels the size and struggle at times or if it just keeps going and going like the big ones do just in a muted way.

The MPG difference is more than cancelled out by the total cost of ownership (TCO) including all the extra (usually unplanned) maintenance that the big 3 have.

Exactly, but once again the Ford fanboys discount resale value and the fact that Tundra is the only full size to ever get a perfect JD Power reliability rating.

    Not nearly enough room here!
More like 342 gears, regular cab and rear wheel drive! I know a lot of "big" 3 buyers. The vast majority of them, aren't interested in learning the first thing about any other name plate, other than what Daddy and his Daddy drove!:D
