Try doing that with the tailgate down because you have a couple of motorcycles sitting on it. Mirrors can center you to the camper laterally, but the last 2 inches forward or backward from the hitch coupler, you can't see the coupler. Can you judge that amount of inching without a helper? Without seeing the ground? Just looking out your windows or mirrors with only a horizon? Eventually yes, because you have no other way, and it may take several attempts each time putting it in park, stepping out of the truck, walking back to the hitch. But if you can see the ground directly below the door, you can judge to 1/2 inch, hence open door and look down. You're not able to judge 1/2 inch from using your mirrors.

If that works, that is an excellent workaround. I'll try it, Thanks!!

Yes usually. I was hitching up trailers long before backup cameras existed, so I got pretty proficient at it. I rarely haul anything that requires leaving the tailgate down, either.

This did work, wonderful! I also found that if I push the "P" button on the center console, the truck doesn't have to first be put back in park. Either way, it's an improvement.

If you go on JBL.COM you can navigate to a section where they describe their systems that were factory options for different makes and models. They give more details about the systems in our trucks than Toyota. I found the information when I was looking for more info about my 5th gen 4Runner.

The speaker count is inflated by counting coaxial speakers as separate ones even though they are in one enclosure as one unit.

Back in the good old days when quaint things like honesty prevailed this was not the practice. Then it slowly changed to “12 speakers in 8 enclosures”. And now we are here, when 1TB is only 1000 GB and not the correct 1024 GB making an HDD appear larger.

From truth to “fake it till you make it” to just faking it.
