Not sure, I have it set-up with fogs on all the time. It worked fine with the old halogen bulbs. I plan to do a little more investigating today.

Got 2018 fogs. Tried the front route. No go. When it warms up will have to go through the wheel arch. Good to know @RowdyRon about the plastic extensions

You don't have to tell me, I broke my passenger side not realizing exactly how they came out and how fragile they are.

Those are sweet. Do you have to install a resistor since they are LED?

Nope. The resistors for these are part of the bulb.

    stock lights.jpg white LEDs.jpg yellow LEDs.jpg

Thanks for the info @slide187. I went the same route you went and I think they are a great alternative to spending the money for 2018's. Plus I like the fact that I can change to the white or yellow when I want to. There is a small learning curve to the high beams, but nothing that needs any rocket scienctry (yeah I made that word up). Here's some more pics to enhance the post...

Stock lights, white LED's and yellow LED's

Either click the high beams on and off or just rotate the fog light switch from on to off quickly. They will change color from one to the other as long as they are only off for a couple seconds. Switch them off for ~5 or more seconds and they come back on in white.

Yes. White reflects off the particles in fog and dust and rain.

Edit: actually, all light reflects off, but the white appears to, more so than yellow or amber, so that's why usually fog lights are not white.

Yeah it seemed to me when using them that the white light illuminated the mist, where yellow seems to just illuminate the road. In my non-scienctry (©️ @Trevman2 ) explanation. Haha

I wonder if it distracts people when I flash them with my brights and the fogs change color. Hahah. Like if they drive off goin “am I having a stroke? Or did those lights change colors?”

Haha no, these are aftermarket bulbs we found on eBay. The toggle is part of the bulb. Toyota would never come up with something this innovative.

Yeah the wiring shouldn’t affect how the leds work. It’s just a relay hot-wire as I understand it. When there’s power to the lights, there’s power to the lights. It shouldn’t change anything.

Subd I'm looking at these switchback bulbs. 18 fogs and morimotos as well. Budget will decide what I go with. I really like the switchback idea since I have always ran yellow fogs. But wanna upgrade to match my 2018 led headlights

Yup, mine are still running, no glare, color looks great and they work the same way they did the day I put them in.
