LOL which part, the headlights, the big grill, the hood, the front bumper, the fender mouldings? I’ll agree to disagree, but is this pic below a tundra or a sequoia?

It seems intentional by Toyota to make them look similar. I think the front grill isn’t as crazy though, it doesn’t have that “open mouth” look, and doesn’t have the “mustache”. I was just referring to the overall look. I think we’re both right.

The lack of a mustache and open carp mouth are a dead giveaway that this is not a Tundra front end. The Sequoia is rated to tow 9k+ which is a lot for an SUV with a shorter wheelbase, but Toyota did a good job understating all the front end cooling vents. It all looks exaggerated on the Tundra, but I’m sure at least some of that is functional, as the Tundra is rated to pull a bit more weight.

Sequoia front end looks like the next natural step from the 3rd gen Taco design.

7592 sold so far https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/toyota-sequoia-sales-figures/ I think it was a good decision to keep the Sequoia in the lineup but the implementation was poor. One step forward making it more offroad capable, two steps backward reducing the cargo area cubic ft from 122 to 87. Best in class HP and torque means nothing if you don't have cargo volume.

I'm thinking the ageing San Antonio plant isn't versatile enough to allow Yota to assemble a non-hybrid version along with a hybrid version. Going backwards to SRA to share the Tundra platform kept it in the lineup but made the cargo area kinda useless. Ah well, time will tell how this pans out.

12,063 2023 Sequoias sold so far. In the Denver area I see $74k minimum asking price. No way I can afford that, and don't even want one because of the wonky and useless cargo area. Grrrr, I was looking forward to getting a used one in a few years to get better mpg, but the cargo area design is useless for our purpose. We need a cavern, not a studio apartment. Don't need 583 torque in an SUV. Just poor decisions for a total redesign. One drivetrain choice (hybrid only) is a ridiculous strategy to cut into the Tahoe share of the market

But… unlike Tahoe it will hold its value and have much less problems. I’ve had mine for 7 months and love it!
