A few guys I know used farm tractor wheels. Then added rocks around the edge. Check Pinterest for ideas.

I only have a large copper fire pit thingy.

    A20C5DFC-EA95-4301-B1C2-63C98927CBAA.jpg

Not fancy but does the job. It’s not attached to the ground so I can move around the yard and put it where I need/want it to be.

Not supposed to by I have grilled steaks on it :anonymous: Hate wasting good coals.

Just have a copper pot one for now, can’t have holes in the side or it ruins the cool deck. Undergoing a complete landscape renovation, hoping to fit in a nice fire pit, will update shortly.

Thanks for the feedback! The Tundra motor was from an abused work truck. Brought tears to our eyes when we were asked to swap engines... At least I got some cool project parts!
Brake drum stove/pit prototype. Oldsmobile pistons and rods this time.

Would like to have a fire pit but with the burn bans we get around here it would not see much use.

Liking all the great ideas. Looks like a relaxing areas.

What do you people think about something with high wind areas?

I was thinking about doing a wall, seating area, and possibly something like a chimney. Not sure yet though.

Another option is a cast iron woodstove. Easy to find for free or super cheap on Craig's list. Most are if you get it out of the house it's yours.

For benefit of those who didn’t see, got 36” metal ring from Amazon and trapezoid and regular bricks for around the ring. The first two rows will have a one inch gap to the ring. When I set the ring on the third l row it will come in snug so it doesn’t wobble.

I will put a base of paving sand and a few rectangle pavers before the traps, just so I can have solid base and legs area to scoop ash and charcoal.

I will be building this when I head to my property in AZ, I will take step by step pics for those who can wait. I also think I will lay a bead of adhesive just to keep the bricks stable. And I know others have a different grill setup that will work on this too.
