Full time LEO from Oct. 1976 to April 2013 worked for a State Highway Enforcement Agency, my zone had 4 major interchanges and a whole bunch of 4-5 lane interstate thrown in. Worked my way up from a basic road toad to finally retiring as an LT/ watch commander. I miss the job and I actually miss a few of the people I worked with but I do not miss the B S .:drunk:

Not a fan of the coupes. Never understood why they had Challengers. How does transport workout once CV's are out?

They have transport vans...or customer can ride in the front seat

The team that has these is called CAT or Community Action Team and they're heavily involved in community affairs and such and spend a lot of time fostering relationships etc. The cars are meant more for getting people interested and talking to the police to build relationships

When the sheriff started CAT in 1996, they had Camaros, then went to Dodge Magnums, then to Challengers, and now to SS Camaros

Had one, they're junk for patrol purposes...mine went back for repairs 3 or 4 times in the first 30K miles and I never wrecked it

Don't get me wrong, faster than a patrol car needs to be and comfortable to sit in even with a duty belt and vest on...but build quality as a patrol vehicle....nope

I was a volly from 15- 25 years old, in a small town that did 3-400 call per year, we had 3 fairly dangerous roads in town and did a lot of fatal MVA's, for a few years the 4 mile stretch of Rt 6 through my town was dubbed the most dangerous road in America. I got my EMT at 16 and enjoyed the medical aspect. Was never crazy about running into a burning house but I did it, I loved doing forest fires. I tested at a few paid departments after high school but ended up in nursing school and have worked as an ER nurse since I graduated 14 years ago, I've seen some things there haha. I have a lot of respect for what you all do every day and I make sure the police, fire, and ems guys know that every time they bring me a patient.

Rough day in the ER today. We lost a 2 year old. Never gets easier with the kids, especially now that I have my own. I used my 30 minute debrief , to get in my truck and drive to go hug my daughter, then went back to work.

University LEO in Pa before becoming Mr. Mom. So a short story that just popped in my head since I'm looking at jump packs. The University students could sign out battery jump packs when needed. It was an uneventful day so I get called to assist a student having issues with a jump pack. Pull up to students vehicle and I see him standing beside his vehicle with a twig sticking out of the ground and the Neg jumper cable attached to the end of it. I nearly pissed myself.
