Silver. The dealership that I bought from actually had to trade a dealership another tundra to get it. The original dealership couldn't come close to the dealership that I ended up closing the deal with.

Didn’t know there are TRD/SR5 editions. Isn’t it one or the other?

TRD Off Road Package, with the SR5 “upgrade” package.

TRD PRO is the big boy...

Hey fellas (and ladies), I have offers in on two trucks and the deals are around $300 apart. One difference on the more expensive one (non FFV i might add whereas the other is FFV) is that it has the color keyed bumper and convenience package which gets you the back up “sonar” and the perimeter warning (alarms when backing up and something is coming from either side).

Is the convenience package worth it????

For me: I don’t need that sonar. For wife - MUST HAVE!

What else comes with the package?

FFV has better seals and more corrosive resistant fuel lines. Also, electronics to detect fuel type. Some have reported problems with these electronics.
I didn’t see any non-FFV on the lot here in Houston, but I didn’t look that hard either.

Personally I like the color keyed bumper and it would be one less thing i’d have to have vinyled when i de-chrome it!

The package gets you front and rear sonar, blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, and you get the color bumper.

Thanks! I didn’t want to look it up...

Color keyed bumper corners are nice, personally I think black looks better (or same color across the whole bumper) but that’s a matter of taste.

I find all those added safety features more annoying than helpful. As I understand it: on the Toyota Tundra, you don’t get buttons to disable them, you have to go through the indash menu system: also, it resets those safety settings back to “on” any time you restart the truck... I’m not a fan...

I haven’t personally tried them out or had experience with them on the Tundra, but I have on other vehicles. What I said here about how it works on the tundra I read on the Internet, so it must be true :p

Hahahaha! Having reset every time would be a pain, seems like I have a lot of thinking to do! Am I missing anything on the difference between graphite or black cloth interior? I was set on graphite, but then I saw the black and I like it a little bit better I think! Feedback please!

You only have to reset it if you want it off - if it doesnt bother you / you like it you're good to go!

Personally I wanted "lighter color" interior - not too light, I've got young kids, but I also live in Houston TX (The surface of the sun) so black was out. It looks a little darker than the pictures show and 2 tone would be nice but it's all one color, but it works well enough. (I had leather added to my purchase - again with the kids - so dealer installed on my SR5).

How much did they charge you to add the leather? Is it heated and ventilated?

No need for heat living on the surface of the sun. Venting would have cost a ton more. Sorry, I don't remember what I paid for it. Wife was saying around $1,000 I'm thinking a little less, like $700 - but I'm not sure.

Dang, so you paid around $42k for the truck and got $2k worth of accessories thrown in? What dealer was that at?

Toyota of Kirkland in Washington State. I shopped around for 3+ months and am glad that I did. I looked at dealers out of state and forgot the one that was 10 miles away from me.

Patience and persistence usually pays off when buying cars.
My dad has bought all his cars by just periodically stopping by the dealership and telling the sales guy what he wants (specific options on new cars) and what he's willing to pay. He's been laughed at a lot, but eventually walks out happy. It helps not to be in a rush and stick to your guns on options & price.... provided you're being reasonable (dealer has to make money to stay in business, but they dont have to make it all on you).

Shoot, I got a pretty good deal in the Portland area, but I'd have gladly driven up to Kirkland for a deal like that!

Good price. And I would personally spend 300 for a convenience package and no FFV, no questions asked.

Firstly you couldn't give me an FFV so that right there makes the decision.

Second the front parking sensors are for shit but the cross traffic alert sonar thing is pretty darned awesome.

Deal is on hold! They wouldn’t budge on lowering the number, now the business manager gets a hold of it and it goes up. Its only up $57, BUT IT’S THE POINT NOW!!! I told him to get the numbers right to make it the agreed OTD price. We’ll see how it goes.

They won’t walk from $57. Tell them $57 but that’ll include all weather mats, tint, or clear-bra.
