Can anyone comment on the 2.0 vs 2.5 ifp shocks? I'm planning a 3 inch lift that would include Elka's 3 inch lift shocks all around. The price on the 2.0 is very tempting. How would they measure up to the 2.5s? Seems like the 2.5s are great, is anything lost going down to the 2.0s?

Great write up, adding Elka to my list to research!

Does anyone know if that statement in bold is still correct? I was under the impression that the Fox built TRD Pro's have aluminum bodies? (https://www.ridefox.com/content.php?c=trdpro)

Anyone know the spring length or spring rate for the TRD Pro's to compare to the Elka's? I have been unable to find that info so far.

    Saw this on Tundratalk...
For the benefit of the Tundra community, I had the stock TRD Pro front coil springs tested for their spring rate at @SDHQ since no one seems to know what they are. The test came back at 621lbs/in. So when new, before powdercoating, they were likely 650lb/in. springs. These are off my 2016 TRD Pro Crewmax - I don't know if they would be any different for the double cab. I know dampening plays a huge role in the ride quality, but this info would seem to suggest that maybe 650lb would be a "best fit" spring rate for off-road performance and on-road comfort.

Also, if you pay close attention to the pics, you'll see the driver side, bottom spring perch is set a notch higher than the passenger side to account for the "Toyota lean".

Yes, their publicly available offerings are all coated steel. The Pro stuff is made to manufacturer spec.

    Wow, man, outstanding write up!
    Thank you for you thoroughness.

It’s funny, I was just researching Elka Level 3 2.5 and OME BP-51 KIT earlier this morning.

They both have solid fit and finish.
With the OME being bypass I was leaning towards those, but being familiar with Elka, from my days of bikes, I wanted to look into them as well.

This write up has given more info than anything else I’ve found online.

The Elkas are beautifully made with a ton of thought and effort in design.

This has definitely broadened my search.

    Thanks again!!

With the 2.0 you have less oil and nitrogen compared to the 2.5 due to the body diameter.
For example let’s say the 2.0 and the 2.5 are valved the same and have the same spring rate (I’m not sure if they actually are valved the same and if the spring rate is the same)
If you were to go off-road and cruise down a mellow fire road, both would perform close to the same. But pick up the pace and really get the suspension moving they’re going to get hot. With the smaller oil capacity the 2.0 will get too hot and have shock fade well before the 2.5.

Thanks for the write up! Now instead of thinking and drooling about Kings, I can drool over Elka's too!
