To add to your list, bungee cords, mover's blanket, fire extinguisher, and jumper cable, among other things.

My truck is sort of a bug out vehicle. But having spent a few unplanned nights out while getting stuck (or unstuck) I like to have lots of gear. Most items listed above I carry plus more. In some categories like self extraction gear I've added additional cables, shackles, snatch blocks, (my truck has a warn winch). Also carry some food, change of clothes, water filter, binoculars, bivouac bag, poncho, etc. Storage solution is the Decked drawers and the rear seat back fold down mod. First aid stuff is expanded too. Topo maps & garmin. Whiskey and a ruger 10-22 take down as well as my glock 40.

Had most of the stuff mentioned in the posts above in my '08 and most of it was under/behind that great rear seat. Not really an option in my '16 without mods (thanks, Toyota bean-counters!) but I've managed to cram most of it in anyway.
Strangely, the item I use most is the moving blanket mentioned by chphilo above.

Toyota gave me a flashlight and blanket lol. I have a ton of spare stuff at home i can throw in. I really like the idea of a moving blanket never would have thought of that.

I do not know if you can do this mod on a crewmax. I only know that there is a significant difference. I have heard speculation that the dropping rear window is probably the reason. On a DC like mine, there is a simple method to convert the seat back to make it able to fold down. There is quite a bit of space available.
Don't underestimate the value of a little whiskey if you're stranded overnight.

The moving blanket also works well to toss on the winch cable to absorb energy if it should snap.

Old beach towel. Can get you out of sand snow or mud.

    Pretty great to have.

Flashlight, jump cables, tow strap, waters, peanuts, flares, a blanket for warmth, waterproof matches and firestarter brick.

Great minds...minus the water (always have that anyway) and I threw in a chain saw in a can and fire starting materials (1gal baggie full of petroleum jelly cotton balls).

Never know when those impromptu camping events are going to take place

Yep the fire starter stuff is a given.
My chainsaw and winch have cleared a road several times. I don't keep the chain saw in the truck all the time though.

I feel that i am in good company with so many folk that understand that being prepared is better than being needy!
Sounds like all are people to share the trail with.

This is a really awesome idea!
Ive found that the only thing I dislike about my truck is that it doesnt have any storage in the back of the cab. Ill probably find some rubbermaid bins that I can tuck in behind the drivers seat.
But the ammo boxes are a really good idea.
