I'm not so sure that I would have posted that, but then again that's what this forum is for. Even the Yugo had a cabin filter...............SMH

Experience poor cabin air quality? AC or heat feel under powered? Incredible that a dealer never pulled it on a service visit and tried to offer you the 50$ special. It's actually listed as an item on several services. If you requested what you wanted in terms of "x-mile service," just more proof that is garbage and they're just padding the price for the oil change without checking everything else they're supposed to be checking.

No kidding! I've never had an oil change where they didn't try to sell me everything under the sun.

Before the times of cabin air filters I remember you could have leaves blow in through your vents lol, use to happen in my Fiero.

You are going to need a snake to clear it out by the looks of your filter.
    I mean a real snake.

I've been laughing all the way through this thread!

I bought a dozen of the cabin filters around the same time TRD had their 40% sale where I bought a dozen oil filters too. I change the cabin filter every oil change/5k miles... 2or 3X a year. I do the same with my HVAC system at home. Filters are cheap, and fresh air is nice... 2X a year minimum

I did not post that picture. Not my filter. I am hoping to avoid having that much crap enter the cabin. I purchased my '15 in July 2019. I replaced the cabin filter soon after and it was dirty. No debris was in there but the paper element was dark.

I recently did the same. It wasn’t dirty but there was a few large particles.

I mentioned this post to my boss, the "Chevy rules", dude. He still gets freebie oil changes at Len Lyall Chevy here in Aurora for his 2016 Silverado. Boss mentioned to the Len Lyall CHEVY SERVICE TECH to change out his cabin filter because it was dirty. Len Lyall CHEVY SERVICE TECH's response...................."YOUR SILVERADO DOESN"T HAVE A CABIN FILTER"..... Boss had to show Len Lyall CHEVY SERVICE TECH where the cabin filter was located.........:homer:

No wonder I was coughing up leaves, dead bugs and hair when I had my 2006 Tundra for 12 years. Learn something new every day.

I'm wondering what the cabin filter looks like in the '07 I just bought with 136K. I didn't see any record of it being changed in all the records I have. I'm changing the timing belt (never been changed either) along with a bunch of other MAW's this long weekend. I'll take a look at the filter while I'm at it.

Ha that or a leaf gets stuck in the squirrel cage and makes a clicking sound when you run the air

Your's was dirtier than mine but, I had more leaves.:) I just bought it and was going through everything. This doesn't count the leaves that were scraped off pulling it out. It was a pain fitting my hands through the gap and pulling out 20 or so leaves in the squirrel cage fan. After that someone said there were only 3 screws holding the fan in and I could have removed it and just shaken out the leaves.

The new filter made the cabin smell better.
