    Funny story,

I've been stuck more times in 4WD than I ever have with 2WD.

Just wanted to reiterate the importance of this. The single best mod is time inside the truck, and all that costs is gas. Let your experience on the trial tell you what you need to change.

True story - but I had the BOSS coilovers in the front, not that Billstein kit. In either case, the Toytec was good for what were doing until it wasn't and we smooshed a coilover in some whoops. For the slowspeed crawling type stuff, they were good.

I'm with you on the growth trajectory approach. There is such a strong used parts market in the community, you can essentially finance your next step as your ability begins to exceed the truck capability. We're on our fourth suspension. Almost every Formula 1 driver today started out in GoKarts.

Dillon (in Alex's passenger seat) - Right 3, over crest, left 4 long.
Craig - What's that even mean? I've just got the pedal planted and sawing at the steering wheel, trying not to kill us.
Kevin (in Craig's passenger seat) - Kind of a medium right turn, then over a hill, then a long sweeping left.
Craig - Now we can really run up Alex's ass! VROOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

    :hattip:

Lets discuss pace notes for a moment....

for starters, the numbers are opposite of what you think...

now where and how do those #'s relate

they relate to positions on the steering wheel...

every vehicle is different, now for a group of just tundras calling out live, if you know how to it can work...

but its not exact for everyone, plus your brain has to understand how to apply the notes based on speed traveling at and distance traveled. Meaning someone could be traveling 10% faster than you and the notes may not meet the pace which you are going causing you to miss turns or obstacles. So becareful if you dont know what you are doing...

That said there are many types of pace note systems.
The most common is the direction first... but the numbering varies based on method.

Most co-drivers, develop their own notes system and callouts based on driver co-driver relationship

here is a great simple set of notes...
so to break down the first line

travel 100 meters into right 2 over crest into left 3

i've always considered the nav guys way more ballsy than the drivers themselves. think about it. you're in the passenger seat, triple digit speeds, looking down at your lap, hoping to god that you not only read it right but that the driver understands it. balls man. big. balls.

i'd love a few days at dirtfish...

I used to have a Ford Focus. Nothing quite so fun as a car in the dirt at stupid speeds. It’s just paradoxical lunacy.
