Drivers side grab handle UPDATE!!

I lost the silver one decades ago.

 

Looks like you guys bought old Mr. Anderson out of stock. Can’t add the parts to my cart and checkout now.

 

Try again later or tomorrow. The whole site along with other Toyota Dealer sites are also acting strange.

2014 - 2021 Tundras did not come with driver's grab handles. The 2007 - 2013 Tundras did, and those will fit 2014 - 2021, but you'll need to also get a bolt and u-nut from Amazon or a local hardware store. Most folks use 1/4" - 20, but I'm fairly certain metric M8, and perhaps M6, will work too (I'll find out soon).

You'll need both the handle and the garnish. If you put in your VIN, or your year, before/when you search for the parts, you'll likely get a warning that the handle, and separate item, the garnish, don't fit. At worst, your search will not return the handle or garnish at all. Toyota calls the handle both an "Assist Grip Assembly" and an "Interior Grab Handle" (and perhaps other names too), so you may see either or both. If you've gray trim, then 74610-0C082-B0 is the correct part number for just the grip/grab handle. In the rare case you've beige/tan trim then that part number is different; I think just the last two digits, the "B0", designates color.

 

Wow, that is very thorough, thank you. My question was more aimed at why the same dealership parts website would have renamed a part between @JohnWhicker ordering a few weeks ago and me ordering today.

 

I do that sometimes when I can't sleep and am up at 4:00 AM.

I’ve been reading people haven’t been too happy with sparks parts recently, whether it be shipping or product. The price alone was enough for me to get my own hardware at Lowe’s here for $3 and just pay the $144 for both parts from Fred Anderson with free shipping. Very happy with that price and OEM .

 

Last thing i ordered from them was the grab handle. The price was under $200.00 if i remember. Ihavent read much on any issues, but im not here every day either.

Was just tossing that post out there since folks were getting different price from the other website noted.

I don't do salvage and $150 is a small price to pay for the benefit this mod adds to our trucks

 

FYI, it's not just Fred Anderson, but several other dealers (such as Serra out of AL) that have the 25% off and free shipping over $75. The prices vary among dealers (before the 25% discount), so it can be worth shopping around before ordering.

 

I was on the fence but for the price I figured why not, just placed an order with Fred Anderson. Was going to use Serra (which I’ve used in the past) but figured I’d give Fred Anderson a try this time. Same price but Serra can be a little slow to ship. Hopefully these aren’t still on back order and come in a decent time. Anyone order from Fred Anderson lately?

Yeah that is a deal I would have jumped on too! I got bored one night and looked at the vendor review tab is what I am making my speculation based on. Sure not everyone takes to the forum when they have good experiences, but it was enough to catch my eye.

 

I’m assuming that this same may have them backed up a little.

I Googled "62217-04010," and saw some images. I've had my garnishes off, both sides, and I've no idea what that clip is. It dos not look familiar. I'd guess, no, you don't need it, unless you break, or lose, what's already there.

 

I ordered mine on Monday too, right after I saw your notification of the 25%. I've not heard anything since the two order confirmation emails. Did you receive a shipped confirmation email? What carrier did they use?

Well, I did also order rear shock bushings. Maybe they're holding things up? If so, I'm like, "Whenever the handle gets here, fine, I can wait. But the bushings? I need then now!" My new Eibachs are crying to be installed.

 

For anyone wondering about the bolt, washer, and u-nut you'll need... scroll up in this thread and find the link to the Sparks Parts handle Webpage. What you need is listed there. 1/4" - 20 bolt, 1.5", washer and a u-nut for that bolt, IIRC.

As I understand it, Tundras that came stock with the handle, 2007 - 2013, had a threaded A pillar hole to accept the bolt (of course it wasn't 1/4" - 20, but likely either M6 or M8). When Toyota stopped putting handles in our 2014 - 2021 they left the hole but stopped threading it, hence we need a u-nut

Not so fast Senior! Just going back to look at my order (was half asleep last night when I ordered) looks like one piece is the wrong color.....
Just reached out to Fred to confirm and see if they can fix it if it is indeed wrong color, so likely not gonna ship today but lottery tickets are in order!

Yeah, that garnish should be 62220-0C050-B0, and not 62220-0C080-B2. Oooops.

I need to call them too and see where my order is at.

I wasn't planning on going out, but maybe I will now. Check out spacers at Lowes to use for a possible carrier bearing drop, and a Mega Powerball, whatever has the largest jackpot.
