It's funny how some people take everything so seriously. They are all good trucks but given how some get offended from us DC guys messing with them, maybe shows that the rumors are true. DC is for work and manly truck duties and the CM is for going to the mall and ice cream socials. YMMV.:D

CM is far superior because it has a back seat not just a small package shelf like the dc :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

I went DC for my first Tundra. By choice......
I don't have kids at home anymore, just the wife and myself so it's basically my "toy".
I couldn't give up that 6' bed. The short crew cab beds on most full sized trucks of any brand just never appealed to me in looks or function.
The DC to my eye looks a little "meaner" and more "correct" with those proportions.
I needed the bed for quads, dirt bikes, treestands, firewood, kayaks etc......just like that extra room.

I've been in the backseat of the CM and I can definitely see why it has its fans.....I just needed the bed more and the looks appeal to me more as well anyway.
    Win win for me.

I have owned 4 Tundras. 07 CM limited/ 08 DC SR/13 DC SR5/ and now my 2020 CM limited. Can honestly say I loved all 4. I am older now and the only thing I frequently haul is my RZR. I enjoy the enormous back seat and have a 6x14 utility trailer if I need to move larger items. Just really like the looks of the CM better but certainly don't dislike the DC. I had a DCLB for a loaner for 2 weeks when I bought the 07 CM (waiting for the 07 to come in) and that thing was looong. Not very attractive in my mind but would make a great work truck/hauler. Enjoy whatever you have

I wish i would have bought a CM cab, my kids carseats don't fit well at all in my DC. The infant carseat requires the seat in front of it to be moved up 4ish inches and my sons forward facing seat doesn't offer much more room, he kicks the back of my seat constantly. I wanted the bed space when I purchased the truck but definitely regret it now. Great truck other than carseat frustrations.

IMO DC is the superior pick. It’s cheaper, it has more bed space, higher payload and towing, and you still have comfortable interior space. I personally like the look better too.

I have owned both now, a 2019 double cab and now a 2021 crewmax. It was just my wife and I with the double cab, and while the rear seat was definitely small, we were more interested in fitting kayaks in the bed, plus the price difference at the moment was significant. I used the bed often, but the whole thing maybe once. People fit in the back just fine, it just wasn’t the most spacious seat.

We now have a 6 week old boy, and while he and his seat technically fit in the back of the DC, it was super tight, and if he was behind either of us we were eating the dash. Plus we’ve got a big goofy golden retriever we wanted to be able to fit back there too. The rear HVAC vents were a big plus too, along with that back window rolling down. If I need to move something longer, I’ll use a bed extender.

I don’t think one is superior to the other, just different applications. It’s been said a million times, but it comes down to what’s more important: your bed or your cabin space, and what you’ll be happy with on a daily basis. I saw a crewmax fitting our lives better for the forseeable future, so I made the switch.

This is exactly why I went with a CM. Assuming I keep my current truck more than about 5 years, I'll probably go with DC for my next one.

You can also haul longer stuff by putting it through the window...

I prefer DC over CM. I have family of 4. 2 boys under 12 so they aren’t that big yet and the backseat of DC is plenty for them. When they get older and need more room then they should be old enough to drive and I’m thinking about just getting them each a Tundra. No need to figure out which is better. Just as long as it’s black, it will be faster than anything out there.

My dad hauls things like ladders in his Grand Vitara by putting one end on the dash. Don't see why doing the same in a Tundra would be an issue.

Lol, yes it can. After getting rear ended by someone doing 50 I realized this first hand. Luckily nothing serious, but I had a dash mounted bobble head, when we were having the truck towed I was wondering where it went. Basically it had detached and flown all the way into the back wall of the cab. Luckily no one was back there.

CM for sure...especially if you have a family and need space. Every time I think about the mpg I’m getting, I remember that my whole family is sitting in a limo sized cabin and it makes me feel like it’s a fair trade off. Not sure I would feel this way about a DC.

Should have been more specific my son is on an 85, so his fits easily and mine is just whipped to the side a bit. Two full size bikes would probably need to turn in front tires.

The extra foot in the DC is worth it's weight in gold. Kids will find something to complain about, even in a CM. Make sure you get your truck for *you* and your dogs - fur babies never complain about anything: they only care that they're with you enjoying the drive.
