I really like that cap. I'm considering getting one later on.

-Also glad to see there actually are DC owners on this site....seems like we're the minority for sure! I had a small S10 standard cab 4x4 for years, so the room I have now in the DC is massive by comparison. BTW, not knocking CM folks at all...if you lug around 4 or more, or want a lot of space inside the cab...its the way to go. ....you could play baseball in there....I'm still puzzled why the CM gets a neat roll down rear window and the DC guys/gals don't.

This is about the only thing DC's are missing IMO. When I first got mine, I actually looked into what it'd take to install a full roll down rear. Not doable unless you replace the entire rear wall, I guess.

Couldn’t agree more. My first tundra was actually a 2018 CM. I thought I was going to drive it until it died. But the bed is just useless. So when the dealerships were hurting for cars I traded it in on this 2020. Couldn’t be happier. I feel like I have a real truck again and not a dad minivan.

but like you said. If I had a family of 4 I would definitely get a CM. I’m hoping the next gen has a CM with a 6.5ft bed option

They're older too. 18 and 13. Still fine. Its just not the limo space the cm has, but I'd say it comparable to the cm from the first gens

They’ll never make one. It’d be too long. Think parking spots. It does look goofy, too, tbh. Like a limo. There’s pics out there on the interwebs of people having it done. I love the idea, but it looks dumb. Then again, as with most things one might get used to the look.

I don’t think it’s out of the question. Every other truck manufacturer offers a 1/2 ton with a 6.5ft bed. Now the 8ft bed would definitely be out of the question. Those things are huge

I really like the ARE MX's.

I like this one cause it matches the color of my truck. I'd like to see it in black though. Also, I don't want a back middle door, replacing my tailgate. I want a slider toolboxes and a slider platform on top. Afterall, I want to haul an airstream so won't need to camp in it unless it's a quick trip to the lake.

Ah okay, I have a spare actuator from doing power tailgate lock so I was hoping you could show us how/where they mounted one so I could copy it. I haven't had any good ideas yet.

I ordered the MX too. Was between that and the leer. I like the looks of the leer slightly more in the mid rise, but only option was the double T handles and I wanted a single handle. I have had good luck with both brands.

I copied @NoRcptn and went with the internal frame for my Rtt. It’s beefy! And I plan to have this truck for many many years so I didn’t skimp on anything. ARE think it’s the CX HD. Windoors were an absolutely must. Love them even tho I’m short too.7A89253E-2A6E-4131-8BDA-CD2E8D3870E3.jpgCEA949F6-473C-4A95-95BB-39738E101088.jpg

Stock 2019 DC wheels and tires. Took months of looking for a used cap, luckily it was one year old, great condition and the correct color. Fits like a glove. 14A7F6A0-1F51-4ACB-9082-3AB7D5290409.jpg

Well, it ain't new, and it ain't pretty... but it's not a CrewMax and it does have a topper, and it's paid for and it works hard. I only know that the topper is a Leer 100 because I had to replace the locks and the gas struts. Gojira is a 2000 extra cab; wheels are (I think) 16's; tires are Blizzak 10-ply. Per the previous owner, it was lifted 2" and has Biltstein shocks - he used it to cut wood and truck it out. I use the beast to plow my driveway and haul a trailer full of guns and ammo to gun shows.

I know he's not pretty... but at age 56, Gojira was my very first truck. Why Gojira? He's old, green, Japanese, powerful, battered and he ROARS. (aftermarket mufflers; don't know the brand).

    20210216_092312.jpg

Don't have pix of the new beast, but Thursday night I pulled the trigger on a Certified 2018 DC SR5 with the TRD Off Road package. No cap yet... need to get a plow first, and maybe this fall a cap. Gojira will probably go on to be a plow truck for one of my friends - I have a line up waiting for when I officially offer him up for sale!
