I'm 6' I have been in the back seat of my truck drunk a few times not proud of that part but it's not that bad back there. I wouldn't want to sit back there for hrs but 1 or 2 wouldn't be to bad. O and I can fit a total of 6 in my truck with the front bench. After all it was ment to work out of and it is white. Lol

I'm just glad I can open the rear doors independently from the front (2018 DC). My previous Tundra (2006 AC) required opening the front doors first, then the back doors. My passengers often felt a bit trapped back there.

BTW, DC rocks IMO. 6.5 ft. bed is very practical for me and I almost never take passengers in the rear, and if I do it is for short distances.

This question is easy. Do you have kids? Crew max

    Otherwise dc is fine.

I have 2 kids, a CM would have been so much nicer to have. Too bad i bought my truck before i got married

I went DC because cab space is not an issue for me and the wife, but boo to Toyota for not letting us choose on the highest trims.

Hahaha damn it that was a secret. I will say that I did just pick up 8 16' boards the other day. Having the rear window roll down and removable front window on the cap was a life saver.

But I go back and forth between DC and CM. I hate the short bed in some cases. Then I sit in a friends back seat of a DC and I remember why I got the CM.

If Toyota let me get a CM with a 6.5' or 8' box I would trade mine in now

I posted before that why Toyota doesn't offer a CM built on the DC 8 ft bed frame is crazy, even on a small batch run they would all be snatched up every year by us fanboys.

They probably are afraid of how many 5.5 crewmax trade ins they would get

This is my second extra cab and I have to say that I didn't learn my lesson the first time. I also have the smaller V8. I am looking at possibly upgrading to a CM and bigger V8 and call it lessons learned.

Thanks bud... loving it, except trying to keep that black clean enough to see the blue metallic flake deep down inside.

Not to steal your spark bud but it dont matter if its white or black right as long as it's long. Lmao I'm talking about the trucks..not to many long bed lifted tundras out here.

I like my double cab. However i would recommend getting a tool box or other storage in the bed if you’re planning on taking trips and need room in backseat for a dog or kids.

I’ve had both and love both. To be honest there is plenty of room in the back for the DC if it’s not a car seat. I have the CM now and I enjoy all the creature comforts like you stated. I think that should be the determining factor...

I had a 2016 Tacoma with a double cab and 5' bed and had more issues with the bed too short than the cab too small. Bought a bed extender and it helped a little, but still wished for a bigger bed. When I traded it in for a Tundra, I placed bed length more important than cab size. A double cab and 6.5' bed have been a good match for me. I have driven 6hrs from MD to OBX with an adult and Lab in the back and they didn't complain once and had plenty of room and with the bed full of beach vacation stuff. Another point was the ease of getting a skid steer bucket to easily drop two yards of mulch in the bed.

    It’s a 6.0 at that.

And it’s awesome. But not near as comfortable to run around in as my Tundra.

I love my DC more than I like most people. I just tell them I can't drive because of my tools and shit in the back seat. Seriously though, if you can't fit in the back seat of a DC then you might have a bigger problem that needs to be looked at by a doctor. I do love seeing the CM rolling down the road with that big ass back window down. I suggest you buy a 1996 Tacoma SC, then both the DC or CM will be 'roomy'.

Then why not just get a nice 4 Runner and a trailer. I had a Tacoma double cab and tiny bed. I hated making 2 trips to carry anything or putting an extender on it. The roll down window in the CM is cool though.
