Well, That should get things started. Just thinking out loud.I will probably buy in late spring (waiting to hear what 2021 will bring).

Not sure if I will miss the bed space or the cab space the most. But, I do love the roll down window and the extras on the platinum (folding mirrors and ventilated seats)--I just don't want to regret the smaller bed. I prefer the color on the Limited (Cavalry Blue).

Today leaning towards a DC. Yesterday it was the CM. Tomorrow, who knows?

Get the CM and add a bed extender. I've had both. Miss the longer bed, but the interior room and roll down back glass is the bomb.

My personal take has always been to never buy a truck that I can't sleep in without going corner-to-corner. As I'm 5'11", that takes the CM right out of the conversation. I've been driving my DC for the past 6 years and I think it's the ideal balance between cargo and passenger space. Unless you're hauling large, grown men in the back seat every day, then to me you're just wasting great usable space in the box. Plus, you can always get the DC with an 8' bed (do they still offer that?) if you're so inclined, so that's another plus. And if you want the power rear window, the DC does come with a power slider for the center section on some trim packages.

I was in a similar process of back and forth, right up until a coworker with a CM let me take a peak. I opened that back door, and it was all over. If you go DC and need more interior space there is nothing you can do to compensate for the lack. CM bed space can be made up for with a cheap little trailer.

I’ve had both. I do miss the bed space occasionally, but then I get to exercise my utility trailer more often.
Crewmax interior room is just massive.

Plus the roll down window... I miss that from my 05 DC.. (yup the old DC had the badass window)

I have a DC and also have 2 kids in car seats. I had a CM previously and the extra cab space is definitely nice, but I love having the longer bed and there's still plenty of space for the kids in back. Unless you're frequently hauling around grown adults in the back, a DC would be just fine.

I bought a truck to use a truck bed. Double cab all the way. The back seat is still plenty big for an adult male to be comfortable too whenever I've had to sit back there, it's roomier than any of my friend's vehicles backseat.

DC. Less money and better use of inside space. Toyota took away some of the best features of the CM in 2014. The rear mat in my DBL Cab was larger than the one in my CM....

I have a crew. But at times wish had the longer bed. So my answer would get the dc. Rarely have 3 or 4 people riding with me. If I had kids crew is the answer for sure. So I guess you ask yourself are there going to be folks riding in the back. My next one will be a dc.

I bought a Double Cab, and then changed my mind and decided I should have bought the Crew Max. So I sold it to my mechanic and got the Crew Max. I'm much happier with the larger cab, and didn't need the longer bed.

I just couldn't stand the thought of buying a truck where I couldn't fit bikes in the bed. So it was a DC for me. I'd love to have the roll down rear window, though, like I had on my 88 4Runner.

It comes down to do you want more room to haul people or stuff in the bed? I had a F-150 SuperCrew 5.5 bed and always wished I had more bed space. The DC has the best mix of a real useable back seat and bed space in my opinion.

Everyone’s situation is different - but if you find your needs are primarily hauling people go with the CM (or buy an SUV!). I love having the extra room in the 6.5 bed though!

I like my DC. I've had many occasions where the extra bed space was invaluable. DC back seats are bigger than our Corolla back seats.

I’m 6’3” 210, and I fit in the backseat of a DC just fine. And my 6yo and 4yo get in and out of their car seats easily. I’d rather have the bed space.

I have to say this was one of the things I absolutely HATED about my 2010 DC.. especially since my 2005 DC had four “full” doors.
But regardless.. ended up with a crewmax

Ditto...you can't fit regular door handles...there's that window thing...and just what is a "full" door? A big door for a romper room for kids? That's what soccer kid suv's are for. SMH..

That rear roll down window in a real winter sure comes in handy too and a moon roof, or is it a sun roof? :deadhorse:
