My 16 SR5 has the chrome surround and fat chrome bars. Barcelona Red and a LOT of chrome up there.

I don’t have a particular fondness for it. It was my first thought. That has got to go. But as time and miles have passed, and it seems most guys have swapped out the grills, debadged, removed decals, I just don’t see stock Tundras like it, which I kind of enjoy. It has held up very well.

I’m not a chrome guy but I’ve always though it looked fine on the Tundra. But when I went to the dealership and they had the Nigh shade edition, my whole world changed. I love it and won’t look back.

When I had my few 2nd Gen Tundras I felt there was a bit too much chrome, but had no issues when I got my 2014's. I don't think there was really 'more' on the 2nd gens, but just how it looked with that styling I guess?

I like my chrome. I have blacked out headlights (morimotos) and fogs. Once that install happened, a perfect balance existed. Interior wise, I'd remove the chrome to reduce glare but it's minimal.

My truck had black door handles, then I tried color matching Super White and they looked good, now I have Chrome handles and I think they look great.

Nothing wrong with a little where it's needed. I have bedlined steps, but a balance is the key. Chrome up front helps with road wear too.

I thought about switching those to chrome, but I like the black mirrors, handles, and running boards.

The chrome mirror caps are excellent for resisting bug splatter, rock chips, etc. A little windex and she's new.

    Chrome handles... Eh.

Shows fingerprints, never gets the onslaught of road wear. I'd like them colored. Probably easy to scratch with rings... But fixable.

I for one actually like Chrome bumpers at least on pick ups.

My Platinum 2014 has chrome end caps front and rear and the 1794 center piece in the front bumper.

kind of looks like the new 2020 trail editions, thought I had a photo after I made the change. I’ll add one in a bit.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
I like keeping vehicles as Original looking as possible, meaning Don't add anything in too much quantity or areas that is becomes an Eye sore. If it came with Chrome, so bit it, gotta love it all!

Besides, if it isn't yours and you don't like it, don't look, haha...

Some colors look better with it than without. IMO Army green looks way better on a 2021 SR5 with a chrome grille, black center bumper, and chrome bumper caps than any of the 2020 TRD Pros. I would still probably remove the 4x4, 5.7, and SR5 badges, and black out the Tundra door badges. Again, just my opinion.

I think this is @MrBoJangles78 truck? Anyway, I like everything on this but the chrome on the doors.

Finally went and took a photo. It’s a Platinum with 1794 Bumper. I just like trucks with chrome bumpers they also seem to fair better if you brush up against a bush or something

    Thanks!
I’ve always thought the problem with Tundras chrome is it’s just thrown in here and there. They either needed to get rid of all of it or make it fit better.

I'm not going to go to autozone and cover it in chrome but I think the Tundra has just the right amount in just the right places

Depends on the vehicle. On my truck I wouldn’t like it because I have that stormtrooper look but on others chrome is just fine.

    Love this topic.

Had this and mixed chrome with black [a lot of people commented to me that they liked that truck]:

    18.jpg

Of course, such a mixture would kill many here, due to their severe, allergic reaction to chrome.

That said, Quicksand color looks best when it's all blacked out, IMO.

But, SILVER SKY METALLIC?! That's a bling machine, baby! [I just bought a 2021 Limited in SSM.]

I LOVE chrome with Silver Sky.

I LOVE not caring about what other people think about my truck.

Adding an AVS chrome bug deflector [hood protector] on Monday. MORE chrome.

I'll keep my stock, Limited wheels for now, but I'll eventually go with some chrome rims.

Not everyone can handle the chrome. I can.
