Not all, correct. The new Highlander is nice. You could easily mistake it for a Lexus.

Blown away. The V6 and V8 are like .5 sec apart. Hardly call that blown away. Add a SC to a V8 and then its really bye, bye V6. Here's a video. And imagine if the 2nd gen had factory tires and bumper.

Look up 2023 Tacoma. I just saw it. Not bad. At least not Tundra bad. Well some pics look like the Tundra front end and other look like a modified previous gen front end.

Apples and oranges…I’m sure if you go aftermarket on the V-6 (when available) that it’ll leave the V-8 behind.

That guy thinks if he says “that was pretty close” enough times we will believe it. It was closer to a 1/8 mile than a 1/4 and it was still quite the gap. That video is a poor example of supercharged 5.7 potential frankly. That is definitely a Harrop without a tune which isn’t exactly at its potential. Mine went from roughly 5.5 to 4.8 seconds 0-60 going down a pulley size and getting tuned lifted with larger tires. As far as “Apples to Apples” we are talking a 3rd gen with 4 extra gears and forced induction vs a 2nd gen with less gears to utilize and forced induction. I’d bet a tuned 3rd gen still loses, including the hybrid too.I’m sure the V6 CAN be faster, all depends what someone is willing to spend. On that note, there’s no power limit to either engine choice. At the moment though you can supercharge a 5.7 and still cost less than a new 3rd gen with better performance.

Why is it apples to oranges. Both are forced induction. But when it comes to racing, race what you brought and hope its enough. Besides, drag racing a 6,000lbs truck is ridiculous. Ask me how I know and the money I have put in several trucks/SUVs. Reminds me of the discussion I was having with a Tesla owner. He bet me $100 he could beat me in a drag race. I bet him $1000 I can pull 10,000lbs. Also bet him another $1,000 I can make it from Miami to Alabama faster than him. That was the end of that discussion.

V8TT. One can dream I guess. I haven't looked but I would imagine a V6TT or 4 inline TT. I wonder if they are going to only 1 engine option.

I own a 2003 Silverado HD 3/4 ton standard cab with 161,000 miles. This truck has been extremely reliable and only stranded me once when the fuel pump died.
However, last month I put a deposit down on a Tundra 1794 (non hybrid). I live at about 8000’ elevation and all ICEs at this altitude loose about 20% of their HP. So my 360 HP V8 turns into 288 HP which is really noticeable. The Tundra twin turbos don’t suffer nearly the HP loss and will get better fuel mileage than my Silverado (13 mpg on a good day). I’m sure figuring out the new tech will take be quite a while since my Silverado is low or should I say no tech. Good luck with your decision.

Love the look. Hate the price. Same exact 2022 vs my 2017 is $53k instead of $38k.

I think they look better then The previous gen and I think they are the best looking truck on the road. But I do wish it had a more Traditional rear bumper.

And your point is? Are we going to measure penises next? If I was wanting to race other people on the highway I sure wouldn't have built my truck the way I did.

The steering recall was due to 2 of 4 machines at a supplier (for the PS gearing) being out of spec and potentially resulting in a PS oil leak. Any new vehicle at the dealer cannot be sold prior to resolving open recalls. I ended up having to wait to be able to buy my 22 Sequoia for the same reason. Recalls and some tweaking were always to be expected for the 22 Tundra as a new vehicle, plus the aggravating issues due to the responses to covid.

Overall I do like the looks. Getting used to the chrome stache and wish it was color matched. One thing I don't like is the look of the taillights. Just not digging them.

I was out Saturday night and got to see one up close (not just driving around). I do think they look a little better in person.

I think it looks more like the Tacoma than anything else. Not a fan of the front grill or the rear end. I do like the color matched grill better than the chrome however. It seems to make it less conspicuous.

I love my tundra, looks weird yes.... but it's different. The trd pro grille swap makes the whole front view look better.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
My sense of humor is clearly over your head.

seen quite a bit of princesses complaining about a truck they dont have or even own a Tundra in the first place. Its a pick up truck its a utility vehicle. not a pavement princess your wife takes to whole foods because she needs the "space"

That is exactly who Toyota catered to with this redesigned tundra. Not as a pickup truck to do work with.
