I ALWAYS put my left shoe on first, pants, deodorant, brushing teeth, basically everything starts on my left.
I prefer to turn left while driving.
I prefer to back in from the right side.
    I drive with both feet.
I judge the quality of a product on HOW it was made and how many witness marks I can see.
The dollar value of a product is based on how many hours my salary will take me to earn it.
If I don't use my turn signal I feel like an asshole- even in parking lots.
I count prime numbers while peeing.
Hearing a child throw a tantrum instantly makes my blood boil.

I just don’t really do sugar. If I eat anything sweet, which is rare, it’s sweetened with honey or dates or some kind of fruit.

Most people would be amazed at how much better they feel when they escape sugar’s death grip on their lives.

Both. I've always driven with both feet. My last vehicle of 13y was 6speed manual but even before that I drove with left over brake and right over gas. I've gotten to the point that pushing the brake with my right is doable but uncomfortable. I feel more confident using my left foot for braking.

Honey is good. I buy local honey from a coworker. He's a part time beekeeper and on the county bee swarm 911 go to guy.

That's great! Local honey is awesome. Especially if you have allergies. It has trace amounts of pollen and other allergens in your area. Eating it regularly helps your body to not freak out when there's tons of that stuff in the air seasonally. Worked pretty well for me two years after I moved to TN. Cutting sugar out of my diet worked better though.

They have found edible honey with the Pharoah's. Honey can still "bee" good at least 3K years.

I read ridiculously slow, because when I read I am fully processing what I am reading. If it is a technical document I’m connecting all the dots of how the thing I’m reading about functions. If it’s a story, I’m recalling all the nuances of the plot so far (and more than a few offshoots usually as well).

As a result, while I don’t technically have photographic memory, I can recall pretty much anything I read to enough level of detail that I can explain it to someone else in a way they can understand it.

I’ve also got a knack for remembering very random facts and numbers... part of why I’ve been called Rain Man for years.

I’m also able to deduce how things work very quickly and with no prior knowledge or explanation - whether it is mechanical, electrical, computer hardware, programming language, structural, software, etc. I can literally visualize how a random pile of parts work together or how the logic of code I’ve never seen functions...

But if you want me to remember someone’s name or make small talk at a party, I’m out. :anonymous:

You in LE? I am, not a commissioned officer, but I can't set anywhere without my back to the wall and visibility to the room and door. We differ though, I will not go to a building and set in a dark room with bright lights in my face (movie theater).

Man, I thought it was only me. I slept right under the three wire for two deployments and I thought I could sleep through anything. But, let somebody open your rack curtain and you are wide awake. I still need background noise to sleep. 10 deployments and almost 15 years of sea time, just can't fall asleep if it is quiet. I retired in 2003 and still need the background noise.

I have this weird like ratio of food to drink while I’m eating. Especially if I go out to eat. I don’t really notice it often but I will stop eating if I run out of my drink and I like to take the last sip of my drink after I finish chewing my last bite of food. My gf just said yesterday. Why do you take such little sips instead of one big one. I just said bc im not an animal lol

The bane of programmers. I learned of it while programming on my voyage 200. I make a cool little program, and show someone, and in seconds they crash it:facepalm:

Depends on location as usual. Homer is nice. Touristy at summer but all Alaska is then. Homer Spit has a cannery that gets quite busy during fishing season. Hundreds of bald eagles literally hangout nearby. Not sure about the schools. A bit north is Anchor Point. And just north of there is Ninilchik which is worth checking out. Land prices are going to be higher near or on the inlet bluffs because land further in is off grid in many places. Plenty of roads but no electricity. Soldotna might be ideal for you. The Kenai runs through it. I think Soldotna is the largest town on Kenai Peninsula and only a few hours drive to Anchorage.

I don't use sugar on/in anything, I sweeten tea and coffee with pure maple syrup.

Agree w/the local honey thing for sure. So far as I know, we never had allergies until moving to Missouri, where evidently the ragweed wears brass knuckles. LOL

Anyways, thankfully, I've never been one of those guys who needed Claritin or anything, but during the changing of the seasons I'll get the headache, stuffiness, etc. A friend of mine told me "Try local honey - and I mean LOCAL local, like as in a 20 mile radius or something, if you can."

I did...and didn't notice much, I thought - until a year later, as I was stirring some into my oatmeal, that I no longer dealt with any allergies. :) Plus it just tastes so much better - you can actually taste what flowers and such went into making it.

Pretty much the same here. I'm not going to lie and say I don't occasionally have a cookie or something; but anything we sweeten is done with either honey or pure organic stevia.
