M1 0w20 Extended Performance is $25 at Walmart. I always buy it when it has a $12 rebate, bringing my total to $13 for a 5 quart jug of oil. The result, I pay $2.60 a quart of oil ($13/5). Truck takes 8 quarts totals which is $20.80 ($2.60X8). I pay $5 for OEM filter at my local Toyota dealership. The grand total for each one of my oil changes if I do the work myself is $25.80.

If you paid $80, that is a savings of $54.20 per oil change interval, although saving a few bucks is nice, I take more pride in knowing I service my own truck, it certainly isn’t for everyone.

When do the rebates come out?! I've enjoyed the low price of $21 before but never a $12 rebate

Mobil 1 runs the $12 rebate every spring and fall for 45-60 days. You can purchase two, five quart jugs per address. I usually get two myself that way I have what I need for my 5.7L beast.

When the rebate starts again next spring, I’ll post a link here so we all can load up.

The rebate process is easy, take a photo of the receipt, upload it from your phone to the Mobil 1 rebate site and they email you a rebate check, print it and deposit it in your checking account. Couldn’t be any easier.

Yes, sometimes Walmart will sell 0W20 EP for $21, couple that with the rebate, a jug would cost $9 or $1.80 per quart!

Does the factory skid plate block access to the filter as well as the drain plug?

$55 to have my dealer change the oil I don’t even mess with it. I just mark the new filter every time and then have them show it to me once it’s repalced to make sure they actually did it.

It does block the filter, but the skid plate is not hard to remove. Some owners are installing an access panel.

I don’t remember if the plate covers the drain plug- I removed the plate before I thought to look.

I’m reading this thread that the access panel is for the drain plug and not the filter. I’m running a Bud Built skid and I know my access panel is for the drain plug. I just know have decided to start changing the oil myself so never thought about the filter as I assumed access to it was from the top. Might take look.

On my BB skid, they have a hole below the drain plug and an access door for the filter. I’m good to go.

My dealer charges 2.99$ a quart for 0-20W=$23.92 for 8 quarts. the biggest plus is that your record of service follows you to any Toyota dealer.
I have a 2015 Sequoia platinum and 2018 Tundra Limited all serviced at the Toyota dealer. I am 81 and don't need the extra pain (LOL) When I was younger I changed my own oil and filters, and also tuned my own cars.

I thought about the record as well. I just upload anything I do to my Toyota owners login.

For TGMO? At my local stealer they want $7/qt and when asked about a case price, $6.50/qt. That sounds more like dino prices than synthetic.

Dont know if this has been mentioned or not. But be aware that the oil comes out of the drain plug like Niagara Falls!!! Ive only did mine once so Im still working on a solution. Maybe an oversized funnel going into your drain pan...

Yes, I have seen the videos on YouTube. Mine will have to go through a hole in my skid about the size of a medium fist. My try at changing the oil might be in my neighbors driveway. :)

Yes, 0-20 can make quite a mess! Here is a solution.

Just looked under my truck and with a Bud Built slid this would work perfectly....could run the tube through the default hole in the skid or around the end. Just need to find the correct drain valve now. Thanks for posting

I will post a pic of the size after the sun comes up today. Imho, a must have (or fumoto) for the Trd pro skidplate, as well as other skids.

You are correct, was too early and I couldnt rember this am. I went with this over the fumoto valve because of the o ring sealed screw on cap.
