Have fun everyone. Just received my 12 inch system after exchanging an 8 inch system. Shawna was terrific to deal with.

I have the 10inch, my brother drove my Tundra and really noticed the better throttle response and torque! But he wants it quieter! Give us a review of the 8in vs the 12inch..!

The reason I traded was because under heavier to WOT throttle, the 8 had a little more pop or rasp than I would have liked - we all hear sound differently. Otherwise it sounded great. I had the 12 inch on a previous Tundra years ago so I went with what I knew.

Off idle acceleration in the low range - the 8 inch is very throaty whereas the 12 has more of a tempered growl. Heavier throttle/higher rpms, the 8 is pretty aggressive with some pop/rasp. The 12 kind of levels off and has a clean deep tone without the pop/rasp. Overall the 12 is quieter than the 8, but you still know it's there. It has the trademark BAM sound - just milder.

Not too loud - just more pop/rasp at heavier throttle and higher rpms than I wanted.

Oh man what’s the comparison between the 10 and 12? I want to hear it, but not like it’s a 1970s hot rod.

I ordered the 8”, I wanted that head turning sound when you need and quiet when you don’t.

Mine is the 10inch mostly deeper tones but still has a little bit of raspiness. And when your WFO you know it’s there! I never installed the resonator sounds too good without it.

8" here no resonator needed. I remote start every time now so I hear that man truck start up.

I think the website says 8” is indeed their most popular setup. You can’t really go wrong with the sound guarantee. Send it in and exchange for a different setup if you don’t like it.

Just curious here, when you say you had the 7, then the 8 and finally the 10, how does that works?

Do you keep/sell the previous one? return it to DD? do they have an x days return policy? I feel like I'm missing something here.

    Thanks in advance.

Edit: Never mind I just read this

Well... I put mine on today and compared it side by side with another Tundra. You can absolutely tell the difference between the stock truck and the Ba muffler. Totally worth the money. The 10 inch is perfect for me. I have no regrets.

I didn't think I could love driving my truck more, after installing the 8" with the resonator I give myself every excuse to take a drive lol.

    I'll answer your question anyway:

I first had Keith make me a custom 7", in the end it pretty much sounded like an 8".
When I posted about the 7", it seemed to confuse some folk, so I just started referring it as an 8".

I had it for a few years and decided it was a tad too loud for my tastes and needs.
I contacted Keith and me let me swap my 7" or a 10".
I just had to pay shipping to me for the 10 and return shipping to him for the 7.
It costs around $180, but that is cheaper than buying an entire system.

As far as I know @dirtydeeds still has this policy.
If you aren't happy with the system you bought, to loud or not loud enough, you can swap it for a longer (quieter) or shorter (louder) one.

BTW, I love my 10, it is perfect for what I need.

Just installed the 6" which was super easy.

Definitely not too loud. No need for resonator either.

I put on an 8” system and almost wish I’d gone with the 6”. For those who think the 8” will be too loud, no worries with that.

I recall reading a number of your comments about the various options and the assorted pros and cons. Very helpful!

Didn't you switch to the TRD for a while? Maybe I am thinking of someone else...

Yes. Don’t get me wrong, I love the sound of the 8”, but just think maybe if it were a bit more aggressive sounding. I haven’t installed the resonator. It’s loud when you get on it, and I can quiet it down when I roll through my neighborhood. It’s onot been a week so I’ll keep driving it to get more runtime with it.

If Keith would offer a 4" I'd go with that.

I'll toss on some LT headers soon, see what that does in combo with the 6"

Previous Tundra came with OEM single outlet. Changed out for the 12. Then tried the 8 using the sound guarantee.

Current Tundra came with TRD exhaust. Added H pipes and resonators. Took it off and went back to OEM. Came into another 8 inch which I changed for a 12 under sound guarantee.

I’m kind of an exhaust guinea pig.

    Glad the feedback was helpful.

I have the 6 with resonator installed. Personally I find it too quiet. I originally wanted the 8, and am very glad I did NOT buy that (it would be WAY too quiet). I cant imagine there would be any dif from stock with the 10. If I could do it again, I'd like to try the straight pipes (w fake muffler for visual inspection) and resonator.

I originally had a Borla replacement muffler and it was quiet + drone which was the worst combo possible lol

I have the 10 with the resonator installed, and yeah it’s pretty quite, you get the sound only when you hit the go pedal!
