Is that the DD bar? Any wobble? I have the NSV in the garage waiting to go on, but that space is calling for something and love the idea of an amber driving light.

    Looks awesome!!!!!

Yes. It’s the DD 30” stage series light bar with the stealth kit brackets. No wobble that I can tell. The 30” bar and bracket seems to be more rigid than the 42” counterpart. Which makes sense seeing as how the span and weight of the bar is greater with the 42”. This one seems pretty solid.

I looked at multiple posts during my research so wanted to post a before and after for my Pro’s (also on another thread). The OE LED’s weren’t bad but the DD Pro’s are noticeably better…I bet the Max would rock too. The vertical wasn't as bad as I thought it could be; really happy with my purchase.

How does the white match the factory LEDs? I see a ton of pics in amber. I'm looking to go with the white bit I want them to match. Out pit pics (pro preferred) in white with the factory LEDs would be much appreciated. Thanks

Color temp of SS3s in white is going to be right in-line with your OEM LED output. Will actually be a tad more white than blue though.

Oem leds are around 6300k. White SS3s are 6000k. You won’t notice a difference.

So, close enough. I hate lights that don't match. Hopefully someone has a poc they can throw up here.

If you order from us here at Hotshot Offroad it'll be about a week. It would normally be ZERO lead time, but we have been waiting on a pallet to show up that has been stuck in SLC for almost 2 weeks now.

All it means is when it's "off" it glows a subtle amber color as backlighting (not really on, but a night-light-esque "on")...when you turn them on, they blast out the amber color...think of it as a "soft off."

Here is the same light. One with the backlight on, and one with the main beam on. Then of course there would be everything off (not pictured). You have the opportunity to wire them however you'd like via wire tap, but most folks will tap either their parking light or DRL for activation. It is a strictly aesthetic feature.

Can you have amber backlight with white leds ? And what is driving white compared to regular white?
    Thanks

Just a sanity check, have SS3 Pro yellows installed since 2020. I intermittingly use them when needed, can't imagine i have over 20 hours on them, do led's performance degrade over time?

When first installed, they used to over power my headlights and everything was lit up and yellow. Now, they seem less intense to me, a good fog light but not as bright as when i first installed them. I checked and all 4 led emitters are working.

They degrade less then halogens - almost not at all...clean your lens and typically, it's from abrasion of road debris that causes the output seeming to be less. Another thing to constantly check is your battery voltage and fuses used to protect the circuit...even making sure wires are tightly connected and not corroding are good yearly maintenance items...always easier said than done though...I know I don't do that but really should...

Check voltage at the connection. If it’s not getting the full running voltage, they will light up, but won’t be at their full potential. Could have some corrosion causing a voltage drop across the terminal. I’ve had mine for years and never noticed any real decrease in lighting.

Id take a close look at those lenses like @HulkSmurf14 mentioned above. I got covers for mine when I got them from @memario1214 at Hot Shot Offroad… maybe it’s the wear and tear on lenses due to rock chuckers and road debris?
If it is, maybe you can use a headlight polishing kit to put off having to buying new lenses.

Thanks guys for the suggestion. I checked the lenses and they had a film of grime on them so I polished them up a bit. The surface is ribbed so the grooves were dirty. Alot of melting snow so its hard to keep things clean, will see tomorrow morning if it helped.

Both lights are the same brightness and I used di-electric grease on the connectors at install. I cleaned up the fuse contactor at break.

I’ll be curious what you find out. @crashnburn80 over on the Tacoma World forum did several *very* extensive analyses on lighting, truly scientific works of art if you want to review it. Being an automotive lighting engineer, he’s kind of the ”Guitar George who knows all the chords” when it comes to this stuff. Between him and Colton over at Hot Shot, I think the DDs I ended up getting were perfect for my setup and are holding up nicely. Post back and let us know, brother!

Thanks everyone for the reponses. I think it might have been a combination of things making me feel they weren't as vivid as before:

    - grime/film on the lenses
    - wet road conditions, causing more light scattering
