A dual system would be louder, and it it is not designed properly it will reduce your low end / low rpm torque. Keith @dirtydeeds can make a less restrictive system for your truck that utilizes the factory single tail pipe, ask him if he can make it nearly as quiet as stock when cruising.

I think where the TRD system falls short is the separate mufflers... hence the need for an H-pipe.

If the TRD system utilized a single, large volume muffler with dual outlets and tailpipes... it would probably solve that low-end torque loss issue.

I've been bouncing back and forth over exhaust options... and have come to the conclusion that the stock system is hard to beat.

Right now the only cat-back dual system seriously on my radar is the Borla Touring system.

When I added an H pipe to my TRD exhaust (which I no longer have), I noticed an immediate improvement in low end torque and could not notice any difference between the single outlet stock system and the TRD with H pipe. True dual TRD and single outlet OEM was a noticeable difference.

No disrespect intended toward anybody, but if properly built, I don't think you'll lose noticeable torque with duals - but you really don't gain anything versus a properly built single outlet, and it will cost more. But the duals will give more sound than single outlet.

    Just my 2 cents.

If Im pulling exhaust off the truck... I'm not going back together with a single exit system. Any exhaust mods to my truck will need to be dual exhaust with a tailpipe exiting on each side of the truck. I think the key issue is muffler selection... and a single muffler with dual in/out would be ideal for me.

Talk to Keith about the TRD dual exhaust and how he can make it better.

While I appreciate the suggestion... I have zero interest in any of the BAM exhaust. Nothing personal at all towards him or the company... just not a fan of the product.

I think Keith makes a dual muffler TRD upgrade... an H or X pipe and resonators are must have items on a dual pipe system in my opinion.

No worries there. It's not for everyone. You may still call him, because Keith is very knowledgeable and I'd bet money he'd point you in a good direction, even if it's not one of his products.
