It's from CoverKing. The material is regular stuff for friction, not velour. Only time glasses go flying is during emergency stops and turns. Velcro is used for securing. Speaker holes could be much bigger and nicer done but would add to weaker edges.

I am not big on the dash mats, but that one is clean looking. Might have to get one since the NC sun is hard on the dash.

I was just about to resort back to this thread and ask, how far out does the pro clip come? I have crappy eyes and wouldn’t mind something that sticks out as far as the steering wheel LOL.

Has anyone with the ICS mount noticed their dashboard flexing? If you even push lightly on the dashboard it moves so I imagine any cantilevered weight would make it deflect. Add in sun and heat and you might be inadvertently reshaping your dashboard.

Eh, I'm not concerned. Tundra dashes are already warped from the factory. The plate helps, but it's still just plastic. There's ZERO good places for a permanent mount on a Tundra. This is the best compromise. I wish we had a nice trim ring around the radio like the Tacoma. They have the PERFECT spot to mount stuff using the DMM from The Taco Garage. A co-worker has it and it's amazing. Doesn't flex and doesn't hold the stuff in a way that obstructs the windshield as much.

Rather than get a dash cover, I had my front window tinted with clear ceramic tint. You can't even tell it's there visually. It knocked the temperature of the dashboard down 30ish degrees in direct sun. It was about a hundred and seventy degrees now it doesn't really get above a hundred and thirty something.

My plan is to have an ipad mounted, but haven't yet put one on there. I did push down on the arm that comes out from the mount and it feels solid! I do have the support plate installed inside and the dash is between that and the mount, gives extra support.

Has anybody tried one of these? I like the 'factory' look(ish).

I bought this and it actually works out nicely for to hold my phone horizontally when using it as a GPS. The texture blends in perfectly with the dash and kinda looks like an OEM piece. Definitely recommend.

I was going to buy one... They are doing 10% off right now. I went ICS because of the support plate.

Interesting.. I don’t remember a support plate before. That must be a new addition. I’ll check it out. Thanks.

It was added as an option after the initial release. It's a plate that goes on the underside of the dash. It gives the dash more rigidity to support larger tablets and resist flexing.

Hm.. i like the idea of the backer plate, but don't like the aesthetics of the ICS mount. I wonder if the footprint is big enough on the ICS backer plate where I can drill new holes for the Rago mount. Guess its time for some research.

It should be big enough. The ICS lower plate covers the entire flat area of the dash dip, divot, thing. The Rago mount consists of a lower and upper piece, both going on top of the dash. The upper is what you see and screws into the lower. I believe the lower piece is held on by 3 screws.

It looks busy and seems like there is a lot going on but once you start using the ram mounts they are addictive. Also, I installed a head unit with Apple CarPlay so I don’t have to touch my phone once it’s in the mount. I also installed a USB charger on the dash just to the right of the mount to charge my devices when in use.

Curious to see if you go through with using the ics backer plate with the Rago setup. Keep us posted if you go that route.
