I was driving to lunch the other day and my buddy asked what this was for. I was a bit stumped. Which sparked the question.
What does everyone put in their "dash divot"?
Post pics and share your idea.

I assumed it was there just to encourage setting things where they wouldn't become deadly projectiles if propelled by an airbag. I set my coffee mug there, because it doesn't fit in any of the "cup holders."

Installed ICS-Fab dash mount, have a Ram mount grip holder to hold an Apple IPad, this holder is small and I also did change the ball mount to a smaller ball for a better grip.
Holes were drilled and a support plate under the mount inside the dash.

Action cam, until I get a dash cam. Kinda like the action cam there though. 607184C5-CF07-4D09-AED6-57A970DF5080.jpg

My sunglasses fly off that spot if I put them there. To me that area is useless

That’s why I was happy to get the suggestion of the dash mount from @TheBeast - this will be a great addition to using an iPad hands free and using Gaia on the trails.

I put a small sectional with a nice coffee table.
No room for end tables at all though.
Thinking 2020 tundra will have a bigger one.

Oh, I dont use it at all

On my Taco I drilled a small hole and ran a USB cable to the ram mount where I glued on a thin wireless charger. Could easily do it to these too.

I thought it was a nice sunglasses spot as well until i took a corner and they slide right off and onto the floor. Now it seems to be thee choice spot for my wife’s feet on long truck rides.

Sunglasses, they don't fly off because I leave them open (on their top) with the lenses facing me.

You could do it, but make sure the phone won’t fly off on turns or braking or on acceleration.

Does anyone have the ICS-FAB mount and not installed it yet? I am looking for the hole pattern for the ICS-FAB bracket that is used to drill the holes

Could I bother you to measure the distance from hole center to hole center please? Basically a square box dimension to the hole centers?

I thought it was for a phone to lay on. It's got the same kind of surface as those non slip dash pads they use to sell on TV. I haven't put anything up there yet.

The piece that comes with the truck is far from non slip. I can't put anything on there, it'll go flying on the first turn
