i also have the unit and not sure of any way but manually to dim the screen.

top right corner of screen, look for the little sunburst icon.
    tap on it ...
slide that all the way down(left) and its at its dimmest...

I gotta do some reading on this, I've been trying to read as much on this thread as possible, how is it in terms of reliability? my stock JBL headunit is on its way out and Alpine Halo 11" is almost $2500 in Canada vs Dasaita being almost only 1/3 of that.

When i first got it, there was an issue with balance and fade. After a couple weeks working with Dasaita, they finally sent me the patch/update that corected it.

So far its worked as intended except for just the other day the screen froze and i just hit the reset(RST) button on the front and let it reset and its all good.
Havent really had any issues with it related to extreme heat or cold, other than the freeze up the other day.

Its a pretty cool unit as with any other full android head unit. Whatever you can do on your phone, you can do the HU.
I dont have a sim that connects to data, nor do i have a hotspot, so i cant watch netflix while the wife is in TJ Maxx shopping.

I mainly use it for navigation Waze/Maps and the like.

I just want it to play music and display Waze so I can see speed traps, like I do with stock headunit, just without the constant crashing.

Even though i have an affliate link, that would get you a small discount on the Dasaita
if all you want is Navigation, the Dasaita might be over-kill.

I only got it because it was "COOL". My original HU was still functioning correctly, i just caved to peer-pressure -

Right - you would need to download the netfilx app - i was connected to my home wi-fi and tested netflix. it was working.
I really need to get a paid sim or hotspot and use my verizon data, but im too cheap...

Yes - it does allow mirroring, i do not know if you can mirror netflix to it.

I setup mirroring to test it and it prompted me do download an app to my phone called "Zplus"
I was able to mirror a couple items, netflix i did not try.

Not sure what the quality would be even if you could mirror netflix.

If you have a hotspot, just download the netflix app directly to the unit and login. DONE !

I recently installed the G13 in my 2014. I was amazed at how well everything works with none of the bs that a lot of the guys had to deal with several years ago. I liked it so much that I purchased one for my son & his 2009 accord. He's having what I presume is a ground issue. Gets a buzzing sound through the speakers that increases with acceleration. The biggest issue is it's pulling his lights down/dimming them to the point that he can barely see at night. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy that?

Do you have a solid ground connection to the head unit? Have you tested the battery?

I didn't make a dedicated ground connection in the honda or tundra. The tundra, apparently, has it in the loom. I haven't checked the battery.

On the Tundra, the bottom left Head Unit mounting bolt is a good ground. I'm not sure on the Accord, but if you pulled the head unit, just use a temporary ground and see if it makes a difference before you come up with a permanent solution. And have a parts store test the battery for free. Sorry, wish I had more info

Thanks for the reply. I think the headlight issue might be unrelated. I hate working on cars. You can't get to anything in the engine compartment.

I want everything and more lol, I would love it if it can also display trailer's back up camera and store tpms info from the trailer.

How is the unit behaving in the cold?

Did you ever figure out how to get rid of the stock lines? Also dealing with this and would like them gone.

I just installed mine and had the same issue. I couldn't get rid of the stock lines, but you can disable the Dasaita trajectory lines. I believe it was under settings > extra settings > turn off trajectory lines. Once I did that, only the stock lines remained.

This question is for everyone or maybe @BR73

I read that you installed a T-Mobile sim on you G13

I have a Verizon sim and my unit and it did not recognizing it. I'm wondering if you had to do anything else on the head unit after installing the sim?
On the mobile data option I did see a re insert sim and restart but not sure how to re start besides the button on the lower right.

Has anyone had issues with Verizon?

    Thanks, appreciate the help.

Yeah I found that but would like the Dasaita lines to stay.

Good enough for me, better than the stock ones that don't move at all.

Another question, how is anyone dealing with the awful mic? I got the Enfig one and installed it in the stock location and everyone tells me it still sounds terrible. Any solutions?

The saleslady at T-Mobile sold me a "digits only" SIM card and told me a SIM from Walmart or online wouldn't work for this application. My T-Mobile SIM works in my Dasaita with no problems.PXL_20241229_214725564.jpg

Was it plug and play? Or did you have to mess with the settings?

It was plug n play but the SIM card has to be inserted fully in the card reader. It's spring loaded so it took some finesse to get it to seat completely.

The Verizon sim did not work for me. I went with Tmobile and it works just fine.

Has anyone had an issue with the radio just scanning non stop?

This is my 2nd G13 and the first one worked great. The screen had damage on the first one, got an exchange and installed the new one.

Everything was hooked up just like the first one and everything works except the radio. Not sure if I messed up or if i have a bad unit.

You may need to go into the settings and check the region for you radio. I had the same problem when I first installed mine back in August
