You’re welcome. Let me know how things work out. Maybe I need to add a paragraph or two about after market units to the installation instructions… hmmm

Just finished re-installing the FRAC harness and it works like a charm! Adding in the FRAC harness actually allowed me to take off one connector - the one that has all the RCA connectors terminating into one plug. Of course, if you have more than one input then you may still need it, but in my case I was only using that particular piece of the harness for the front camera. I don't think I'll bother with a video splitter as the camera switch works great for me. No point in going through the menu just to find the camera app to use it.

I ordered the FRAC 2.5 years ago, and I'm still amazed at just how beautifully simple it is as well as the craftsmanship. From every single pin in the connectors being wired up even though they may never be used, to being able to work with additional HUs (as long as they utilize the OEM harness), this is honestly just one well executed product for Tundra owners.

Thanks for the kind review. A bean-counter would say it's overbuilt and not designed for maximum profit... He would be right, but that's just the way it's gonna be if I'm accepting hard-earned money from my customers.

I'm looking at getting the Dasaita Max 11 for my non jbl tundra. Do I need anything extra to hook up my aftermarket amp RCA cables or aftermarket backup camera?

Hello All, I just installed the 13.3" Vivid 11 unit and got everything working for the most part. My only 2 real issues is the fast that the Bluetooth audio quality for streaming music from spotify/pandora/saved music on my phone is absolutely horrible. It almost sounds like a very low bit rate, the highs and lows all crackle. Has anyone has these issues and how was it remedied? My other issue is that I have no idea how to get android auto to run wireless. i have a Galaxy s21 Ultra so my phone shouldn't have any issues with that. Tried to use Zlink on the HU but it wont do anything. I'm lost pls hlp. And yes i tried searvhing this longgggg thread and couldn't find anything. :). PS I have a 2018 TRD Sport with the non JBL NAV that i took out.

UPDATE: wireless Android Auto just decided to start working randomly which is odd and the music quality increased along with that as well. when not using android auto the music quality goes back to garbage just over bluetooth. so still trying to figure that out.

I have my Vivid 11 installed and updated with the latest firmwares from Dasaitas website. I have a 2012 Sr5 w/o JBL, and selected the canbus no.8 but have no door alerts, moving guide lines, etc. the SWC works but no other canbus features seem to work.

Do these features work for any of you? Or do I need to select something else?

Been looking at upgrading the 2014 Head Unit for my Tundra TRD (purchased new in 2013) and research has shown the best option (for me) was the Dasaita. I was hesitant due to the low cost and frankly there were quite a few negative reviews; however, my thought was if it is an issue, it wouldn't be a huge hit to the pocketbook (about $470 as of this writing). I purchased the new unit in Nov 2022 off Amazon (if there was an issue, return was always available). It arrived in about 5 days and was plug and play. I have never (ever), attempted any serious upgrade to my vehicles and I did this myself. Install was pretty straight forward, with a few hiccups, nothing major (someone familiar with doing this will have no issues at all). That being said, I can't be more pleased with the unit. If you are hesitating on pulling the trigger; don't. This unit over the past couple of weeks has been fantastic. I really don't use a whole lot in my vehicle; music and navigation mostly. The 'radio default' (as the music) is a bit irritating, I mean (no offense to anyone); but does anyone JUST use radio anymore (I'm 59 yoa and use Spotify and Sirius/XM with zero radio)? The launch program with the Dasaita was a little hum-drum and didn't give me what I wanted, so (again, after much research), I installed the Agama Launcher (highly recommend; side bar, I tried the Vivid Launch, but could never get it to work, it constantly stayed on the 'permissions' screen even though every single permission was enabled). I have my Spotify (launch music) and Sirius app music (***Note: We have a lifetime subscription to Sirius/XM and Dasaita will say/show 'Sirius/XM' available; HOWEVER, be aware it is only available as the app, NOT with the antenna (ie, no attachment in the harness for Sirius/XM); so our availability is only through the app). You can have up to '4' other items per area of the Agama screen (which has 6 different areas as a default). I was able to access numerous web based sites (to include my home security system and view the cameras). The steering wheel controls (on the Dasaita), didn't work as they did with the Tundra unit, so will have to play with that. The TPMS (as the Dasaita unit shows for each tire), isn't currently working, but it appears I need to purchase the additional stem caps (which in MHO is worth it at approx $50-$80). Stock back-up camera works as it should. Bottom line, I'm very impressed and pleased with this system and will keep playing with it. I will keep you updated. Several pictures posted, before, after, and with the Agama launch app.

I have the same year truck and have been wanting to get either the 11in or 13in Dasaita to replace the factory one. Looks good. What else did you have to buy for the installation?

Nothing at all for the installation. Got the entire thing off Amazon. I did go ahead and purchase the aftermarket TMPS caps for the tires and USB dongle, so that is also working great too

I do have a silly question. When putting the truck into reverse the music cuts off as the backup camera comes on. Is there is a setting so it doesn't cut off the audio? i searched all over the menus and couldn't find one.

Yes! It's there. I've done it. I'll have to poke at my menu and tell you where it is, but when I found it there was some forehead-slapping because it was obvious, but it wasn't, you know?

Edit: Settings -> Car-> Extra Settings-> Reversing Volume On

pardon my ignorance. But did you have to purchase a separate apple/android wireless car play dongle. I see in your parts list that you had shared, that it didn't have one. But I do see that the head unit you purchased does have wire car play capability. I plan to order everything that you have on your list through Amazon, maybe just a larger screen.

Also if you could give any insight, tips & tricks or advice on ordering / install / after completion, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Yo folks! I installed the 9” version, everything works great. I have one silly question. How the hell do I turn off the speed limit warning? It warns the speed limit and turn down my audio for about a full minute. I’ve been through all the car and navigation settings. Am I missing something??

This is in the app you're using for Navigation I think. Which one are you running?

I think the Scout navigation runs while I’m driving no matter if I’m running Google maps or not in Carplay. I thought it was the Scout navigation doing that, is there a way to just turn the Scout navigation off?

Great question! I didn't buy the Scout version so I can't walk you through it remotely, but I'm dead sure there's a way to turn it off, these Android units are really customizable. I'd suggest asking Dasaita if you don't find where to turn this off, I'm sure they can help too.

yep the warnings are part of the scout navigation. the the option to turnoff the voice for the speed limit and other things should be in this menu.
    scout.jpg

if they're not there i can go take a look at mine in a bit since i turned it off along with the railroad crossing, it got annoying quick.

Ok. That’s the menu I’ve been searching. It may be worded oddly, making me think it’s a setting I’m overlooking. Your railroad crossing comment reminded me that it warns about school zones also. I’ll see again if I can find something like that.

I’ve got a little bit of buzzing noise coming from my speakers now. Going to pull radio one day and check connections and ground.

it’s not static, but more of a high pitch noise. Doesn’t really seem to change.

    many one had that issue?

Sounds like a ground issue. Had that when one of my 12v cigarette adapters for phone charging went bad (right before it got melty.)
