Was playing around with my head unit last night and messed up the touch area of my touch screen and the front buttons. If anyone else does the same, you can hook up a wireless mouse and keyboard to navigate the head unit. At least I know how to remap my front buttons now.

@minter66 Have you figured out if the Dasaita will work with our TPMS sensors? I read that it should, but can't figure out how to connect them.

Ha i did the same thing... But I didn't hook up a mouse and keyboard. That's pretty great.

Well, this would have been useful.

My first touch point was in the middle of the screen and I touched the second point in the correct spot. It was impossible to navigate back so I threw on a wireless keyboard and mouse to see if it would work. Glad it did.

It is very interesting that we all have messed up our screens lol. I did the same thing but luckily everything was 50/50 opposite so it was easy to guess where to touch to reset the display.

And I messaged Dasaita and for at least my year truck, they said TPMS will not work with the head unit, it's "Too Old"

I tried every Toyota canbus profile (there are a lot of them) and none worked. I even tried to get fuel readings - no go.

I plan on buying that BT OBD2 adapter and running Torque to get that kind of data (I hope TPMS is in OBD2)

I messaged Dasaita for the 9.0 firmware and got this response. “Our device cannot upgrade to Android 9.0”. That was a lie or the person was not knowledgeable. Smh

TPMS will not be on the OBD2, it’s a separate module, at least for Gen3 but I’m assuming it’s the same for Gen2

    Hey Ken

I found the following data dump and video. Hope it helps. I am assuming you are tech savvy so you can research. Video is for a different brand but I am sure its the same process. I plan on buying one soon so hopefully I can contribute to this thread:

    https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...9JiXMpZ5Vr7aB4nOCkIOMymREk3maCaK-Da8kLK8lcsAE

PS i havent fully researched the compatibility of these images to the headunit. It is just a starting point for researching online. I wished they were more generous and provide you with the image but then they know they can charge more for a newer image on the same spec units i guess.

I don’t know how the Tesla guys do it. Our truck has the TPMS module next to the glove box, I know this because I had to connect the remote start to it. This module has to be programmed to the HU in order for it to send signal. I could be wrong.

There is an external TPMS system you can buy from iDoing if you want to go that route. Link is in the video description.

Thanks! I’m sure it’s the same process for all Android HU; however, I do not want to use a firmware that is not provided by Dasaita. Do not want to brick my HU if something was not compatible. Since Dasaita just came out with the 9.0, i’ll give them some time to provide the official update.

@tinman10101 on a closer look, it looks like those firmwares listed on the forum is for Dasaita HU. I will try to update it when I get a chance. Thanks!

What options do you guys have in the Vehicle app? I only have 'Fuel Info'. I messaged Dasaita and they said we should be able to see TPMS data in the Vehicle app.

Ken ... be very careful. Looking at the naming conventions of the file images, it seems like they correspond to certain Dasaita HU. Im sure with further research you can figure out what the naming convention represents. I dont want you to brick your HU because of me.

Looks like the PX nomenclature is related to the CPU.

    d101.jpg

Looks like this one is your best bet:

    d102.jpg

I work in IT so I am very hesitant to update any firmware unless I know it is completely compatible. Good Luck regardless and please share any info you might come upon.

    Cheers

I’m gonna leave it alone for now. Don’t need the 9.0 as I mainly use CarPlay.

For anybody looking to order the new 9.0, I just paid $460.09 after shipping & tax, so I believe they're currently running a sale.

Yes I had to buy a canbus separately its a universal HU so getting it to work with your truck requires additional parts.

You need buy the Canbus and dongle separately when purchasing through AliExpress. The Amazon link has it all bundled. That's why I "canceled" my order through Ali and went with the Amazon link @minter66 provided. It is ultimately cheaper to purchase through Amazon.

Hopefully they won't give you trouble like I got if you decided to cancel. You'll see that it sends a "Cancellation Request" and the seller has to accept the request. The seller will also have the option to send the unit without approving the request within a specified time frame.

Damn it. I thought they included the Canbus without additional costs.

And that does look nice, but sadly that's adding another $100+ that I really shouldn't be spending anyway

I contacted Dasaita and talked to Quick Yuang. He set me up with that unit with canbus for 30% off so total came out to 450USD

thats a great deal. looks like it only fits the gen 2 tundras specifically.

they probably gave you a great discount because they arent flying off the shelf since they are model specific and second gen but win win for you.
