Has anyone found a USB 3.0 flush mount that fits where the factory AUX switch is? I want to replace that, I dont want a USB that is charge only, something to plug into back of radio for pass-thru. I have plenty of charge ports.

nope. You can root it. But there’s no support, that i know of, for custom rom. I browse xda once in awhile looking to see if anyone made custom rom but haven’t seen any so far.

Is there a spec on an external hard drive these radios will support? Looking for something to put movies on and watch.

On my joying unit I plugged in a 128gb thumb drive and it reads just fine.

I think I read up to 1TB is ok. Anything bigger needs an external power supply?

Thats where the Dasaita is nice, you can get custom roms for it, if you so choose.

Yeah. It’s because of the px6 chip.
Joying on mine uses intel chip. That’s why there’s nothing for the joying.

Honestly, i dont see myself paying that much for the dadaita unit just to run custom roms. I would get kenwood and have superior sounds.

All the Kenwoods I saw with 10” + screens were $1250 - $1500. Plus nothing else was in stock right now due to the chip shortage going on.
My father just installed a Stinger radio in his Jeep Gladiator that looks nice. But for the Tundra it was again a floating display that I didn’t want and was $950.

Guess it’s really what’s more important to you in the end or what purposed you are after. For me i got it so i can tether internet so my lil boy that sit in the back can watch his videos when we travel. Im not in it but maybe 4-5 days a month. Sound quality is so so. The hd screen is what i wanted. So it fit my needs. Spending under $400 for it was worth it. But anything more is not since these android radio doesnt have that reliability long term. It can be wonky at time from summer heat. it can run hot at time and there’s nothing build in to help with heat dissipation. If the dasaita cost was around the same price mark. I would get it. But the joying price is better and fit what i wanted it for.

I'm curious... With the joying, does your backup camera and steering wheel controls work as they should? It says on the joying site that it's not compatible with the stock backup camera and I'm wondering if you got that to work...

I'm wondering how the backup camera worked with the cb005 harness. It doesn't appear to have any yellow video in connector in the pictures. Was it part of the original harness that came with the head unit?

in my sequoia with jbl, yes. Everything was plug ‘n play. Even came with the usb adapter cable so i could retain the factory usb/aux. aux is not working though. I have no need for it. they did send the wrong harness the first time. Had to send the correct one after i send photos of how it was the wrong harness. 2nd one work perfectly. Backup works, swc works. Just pick the correct canbus setting.

Everything was plug and play. The CB005-1 harness had yellow CAM IN labeled video connector and another harness was provided with the unit that plugged into the back of the radio that had the mating yellow video connector wit CAM IN labeled connector.

Excellent news. I think I'm going to go with the joying over the dasaita in this case then. I also like that it can take a sim card as well. I can get a tablet data only plan with 4 gigs for 5 bucks a month. I used to be a custom ROM guy back in my youth, now I couldn't give a shit about it. Launchers accomplish everything I need.

Well, I don't know where you are, but I'm in Canada. Fido, a subsidiary of Rogers here, is offering a tablet plan with a free garbage tablet for 5 bucks a month for 2 years.

So after almost 2 weeks I’m still loving the Dasaita radio. Everything is working great with the exception that I’m having trouble getting the audio exactly to my liking. The previous owner has an aftermarket sub and amp and I just can’t get the volume with bass right. But I’ll continue working on it. SIRIS is also a little quite when running wireless CarPlay.
I also have a Bluetooth ODB2 reader and bought the torque app. It won’t save my profile or my gauges. Says I don’t have an SD card. But I have one installed.
Aside from those few things, I’m loving the big screen, wireless CarPlay, and overall functions.

These radio really needs an aftermarket amp to sound better. The volume is pretty low without an aftermarket amp.

There is a factory setting where you can set the “voice” level. Been playing with that some time fine tune it. Can’t figure out what controls CarPlay volume, radio volume, etc…. But I honestly haven’t spent a whole lot of time on it.

Rx350 retrofitted, Morimoto Led fogs. interior and exterior leds swap. TRD drop in filter. Carbon filter delete. Led DRL panels. TRD Shift knob.
I have that turned all the way up. Before the amp, speakers and sub set up. I would have to turn my joying radio up to volume 16 for low listening. Pass 20 for mid listening. Forget when you get a phone call through Bluetooth. Max 36 when bt calling, still having trouble hearing.
After amp setup, it now sat at vol 10 for comfortable listening. 8 if you want to carry on a conversation. Anything over 13, you better be by yourself. It gets loud. for me it was a huge improvement over stock setup.

Does anyone know how to have the unit auto connect to Bluetooth? Someone else besides me regularly uses the truck and Bluetooth only connects to the previous (manually) selected phone. To connect to the other one phone, it has to be manually selected.

So I've been running this unit over a year now and have struggled with a good 'quality' mic sound when on calls (seems overly sensitive?). I am always tweaking the audio using the factory settings.

Have either of you two done a comparison between the external mic and on-board mic? I run the external mic, but might be willing to disconnect it and run the on-board mic as well just to test the quality. Any insights before I open this bad-boy back up?
