Pretty sure my HU went out last night. Turned car on put it in reverse and the screen flickered then went black. Control buttons on the side illuminated at first but no longer do now? Checked fuse in the back but it was fine. Any suggestions for troubleshooting would be appreciated. Probably pull it tomorrow if I cant get it figured out. Only had it in for a couple weeks. Hopefully it's something minor and I dont have to replace it but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I just installed my Dasaita HU on a 2020 Rav4. I have two issues hopefully someone here can help me. First issue is when playing music through bluetooth.

When I click on the left arrow instead of going back it goes forward. When i click on right arrow it does the reverse. How do I go about changing it?

The second issue I was trying to update the system to the latest software. I was able to update the MCU, but when I click on the update.zip file I got this message. I selected apply update from sd or usb. After that I got a message asking to select between apply sd or apply usb. Again I selected "Apply USB". After a couple of seconds I got the "error 21 installation aborted . Failed to verify whole-file signature. "

I did reformatted the usb drive to fat32 before downloading the zip files.

Having problem with my unit now. The unit does not have any picture now. The unit was working great for a month now it won’t boot up. I can see it trying to reboot because the light on the screen goes on and then off every other minute. I checked all connections and ground and it is all snug and secure. Really wanted it to work out but can’t figure out why the screen won’t turn on.

Usually this is caused by a corrupted download. Where did you get the update?

Have you try accessing the setting for your swc canbus? Maybe you can program it.
Maybe try this and see if the button would work again.

No it doesnt. You will still use the same dash kit. The dash kit give you 2 options, mount as single DIN or mount as double DIN.
Have you tried contacting the seller to have the logo remove?

I have not. I also like the look of the squared corner units vs rounded ones better as well.

was this a single DIN opening installation? Hard to tell.

Huh, well I'll be. It USED to be there (the square with double din 4GB/64GB RAM). Maybe ask them? Message the seller (Dasaita)?

I sent Iris a message and am awaiting a reply... she didn't confirm she could still get them but wanted all my vehicle info as if I had already ordered something. She did mention a unit but did not give me a link.

Worth it if you are a tinker. Willing to spend some time diagnosing and troubleshooting when issue arrives. It packs with ton of features.

Not worth it if you want plug n play. Set it and for get it. Reliability? Can't compare to mainstream brands. It's android. Constantly changing and updating.

Installed Dasaita PX6 flush mount. I still have some tweaking to do.

1.) Make tap to the backup camera wires to make oem camera work.

2.) Figure out when I do not have rear channels.

    3.) Add front camera.

    4.) Upgrade rear camera.

5.) Add selection switch for camper rear view camera when backing up with a camper.

So far the is ok. I just have to figure out a few things and see what other parts I need. The bad part about it is. I'm limited on what I can get here in Canada. :( And I'm not used to paying for shipping.

Hey @Htle87 and @Phantom24, did your HUs come back up or are you still having problems??? I am so on the fence w/ this HU! I was so close to pulling the trigger until i started reading some of the posts here. Doesn't seem like any of the Android units are super reliable.

It will likely never be perfect. You're dealing a cheaply made Chinese android powered tablet. Its essentially a tablet tethered to a radio. If you're not comfortable dealing with potential issues or flashing new roms/updating the current ones I would steer clear and get a name brand like Kenwood. You'll likely have to pay 3x the cost for similar or less features.

I was post #5 in this thread, still love it. Initially installed in 2019, motherboard went partially out (no sound) in 2020, replaced myself (they shipped one for free) and still going strong almost 2021!

Even if it died tomorrow, I'd buy another one simply because I love the carplay and the ability for the kids to watch hulu, youtube tv, netflix and prime video on long drives to our camping destination. I think there is a way to get an HDMI out to a rear monitor, and am thinking of installing a standard monitor in the rear of the truck for them to watch so I don't get busted by the cops.

Not to mention the HUGE screen makes hitching up to my camper a breeze. This is coming from a stock non-nav non-backup camera 2007 crewmax.

Agree 100%! I absolutely love having this unit. There are some "minor" tweaks which need to be made regarding memory settings, etc. Everything you need to know is likely in this thread. If not, pose a question, which I will do at the end of this response in regards to Netflix.

With Agama launcher, I really like the UI. I have included both Google Assistant and Alexa. Yup, I can just talk to the unit while driving. All my steering wheel buttons are programmed the way I want them--this unit allows one to do this. Coupled with a tech12volts full system install, audio and video sound amazing and if wanted, deafening.

Hey @minter66, where can I get a functioning Netflix access point??? Thanks in advance!

I think it would be hard to get busted... just turn off video if you're getting pulled over.

Thanks to all for your feedback. Would still like to hear back from @Htle87 and @Phantom24 on their HU update. Just curious. There's a lot of reviews out there on these HUs and they seem to be skewed at different sites - either all sucky or all great. Sometimes you'll find a site where there is an equal mix and I have to think that more people are prone to complaining than giving props.

Yes, sir! I have YT, YT TV, and Prime but cannot locate a functioning Netflix app. I haven't had to download an apk so this will be a first. Any concerns I should be aware of before I give this a try??? Thanks!

not really... there is always a "risk" not using an app from the play store but its as easy as downloading an apk and installing it using the apk installer or something similar.... trying to see if it works.... if not, there are plenty of sites with other versions that might work.

I read a review on Amazon yesterday where a user indicated they couldn't see the screen when using polarized glasses - saw your review @minter66 :). Can anybody confirm or deny? I love my polarized sunglasses, and I know I cannot see some gas pump screens, so I am concerned here w/ the Dasaita, btw if it matters I'd be getting the Android 9.0 or 10.0 10" built-in. Also, if I get the 9.0, please confirm I can update to 10.0. Many thanks!

I don't have my unit yet so I can't answer the sunglasses question but I'm familiar enough with the android platform to answer about 9.0-10.0. There is no reason you shouldn't be able to update to the 10.0 android. Now it may depend on whether or not the manufacturer has released an update for the unit you are looking at. If not, there are always other routes such as installing a custom rom built on the 10.0 android version.

I use polarized glasses, albeit not high end, and I have no issues seeing the screen. In fact, I can see this screen better than the stock head unit.
