I have a couple questions. I recently installed this unit on my 08 with jbl and rear entertainment.
first question is with the rear camera. Mine works but I have to put in reverse and press FCam. Is there a way to make it come on automatically once I put it in reverse like the factory one did and not press fcam?

next question is with the rear entertainment if I press AVIN the unit plays the same video as my rear entertainment. But there is no sound. Any ideas why?

Been looking at the unit to replace my factory head unit.

Be nice if you all would post links to the units and other required pieces to help rest of us out who are on the fence.

I just received mine (purchased from Amazon, but haven't installed it yet), but it has MAX10-CP-AHD on the outside of the box. I wonder if I have the Android 10 one as well.

Got the OBDLink LX to successfully pair to my unit. This Bluetooth reader works way better than the cheap Chinese knockoffs.

I just got everything installed and can probably answer a bunch of questions. Also, BOTH versions (rounded edge and square edge) of the 10.2 unit come with the onboard android auto/carplay installed (no more need for the physical dongle). It also supports Wireless Carplay. I've heard rumors of wireless Android Auto, but you need to be at a certain level of Android on your cell phone for it to work (version 9 I think). My head unit shipped with Android 10, btw.

What is the difference between Android 9.0 version and Android 10?

Glad you said google. In every way I ve been trying to un google myself. Considering android is owned by google I can only assume they will track you with this head unit just like they track you with android phones. It s obviously no big deal to some though. All I have to say to those folks is good luck. A week ago I decided to leave my cell phone at home for good. As soon as I get a land line and recorder my cell phone is history. I love tech as much as the next guy, but I draw the line with google, tracking, and the implications. This is what I m talking about https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...st-the-govt-to-not-spy-on-innocent-americans/

Most of the stuff is subtle and not very noticeable on a head-unit (like battery consumption or fast share and stuff like that). However, it does have Android Auto built-in and there is a dark mode (which I haven't used or even know if I can on the head-unit). Visually they don't look very different, however.

Not sure, but I don't believe so (at least not yet). My Android phone isn't at the Android level to do that (need to be Android 9 and it be a Samsung phone or Google Pixel I think), so perhaps I can find someone (neighbor or something) that can test it. However, just looking at the Zlink app, it only shows CarPlay wireless, wired, and Android Auto wired. Now that doesn't mean that it can't in the future with a new Zlink release as both CarPlay and Android Auto are on-chip in the unit. There is a WiFi antenna on the back (how CP wireless works). Look at the bottom right on the Zlink app to see the icons (CP wireless, CP wired, and AA wired):

I contacted Iris months ago and sold me a Canbus for $65 bucks or so. She stated it was for Tundra. I can check for you and post a pic tomorrow. Thanks.

A few pictures. I went with the original style since I didn't like the rounded edges or the Dasaita logo in the middle. The good news is that the older hardware was updated to match the current (rounded) one. The only difference is the look, that's all. Both now have Apple Wireless Carplay, Wired Carplay, and Wired Android Auto on chip (Zlink software interfaces). No more dongle is needed.

Anyone have any luck rooting these units? It looks like if you install custom firmware the unit will allow root access. I would rather keep my current firmware and have root access

The custom firmware for these units are universal, minus the manufacturers UI tweaks. If you head over to XDA Developers website or Google XDA MTCD and there is more info on these units than you will find here.

Mine came with Android 10 and I don't believe that they have a 10 ROM just yet, so just be aware of that.

I got lucky to have received one that still had android 9 on it.

There is root for the android 10 units, but I personally would wait for the custom firmware to be done. They usually fix bugs that the manufacturers fail to and add additional features.

Any solutions to the echo on the receivers end when I use hands-free calling? I’ve had quite a few complaints about echo from people I call. Could it be the mic?

Hoping that it is the mic. I bought a $10 one on Amazon that should get here on Monday. I'll let you know.

I can confirm that the above mic fixed my echo/muffled volume problem while using Bluetooth. Everyone said that I sounded muffed/could barely hear me with the stock Dasaita mic.

There are a few things I’m worried about before I buy this head unit and some questions. I have a 2007 with nav and JBL. I have deleted the factory amp and have a maestro harness going to a DSR1 DSP that way I could keep my steering wheel controls. I have 2 amps one for speakers and one for my subs.
@minter66 i see you have been in the forum for a while if you could help or tag people you know could help me thank you!
    1. Does the radio have RCA inputs for 2 amps?
    2. If it doesn’t should I keep the DSP In to maintain 2 amps or would I have to buy a 5 channel to run everything.
    3. If It does should I keep the DSP To make installation easier? Would the DSP I installed and the one in the head unit fight eachother? Which would be king?
    4. If I can eliminate the one DSP I put in because the head unit has connections for my 2 amps I don’t have to have the stock amp right? I threw that POS away.
    5. Is this backup camera harness needed Axxess AX-TOYCAM2-6V Toyota Back-Up Camera Retain/Add-On with 6 Volt Turn on Axxess AX-TOYCAM2-6V Toyota Back-Up Camera Retain/Add-On with 6 Volt Turn on
