    It won't show any files on the HU without formatting...

    Any ideas?
    My friend has Linux I'll just go that route. Will update, can't imagine I'm the only one with this issue.

    FYI, for those who care... I couldn't use a USB connection. I had to remove the microSD card and that will mount to both the HU and PC.
    Now that i have it mounted and the update on it... it states it cannot install an archive file. I've downloaded the update, unzipped to get to the second zipped update folder but how are people installing the software?

    I can't believe its this difficult.

    I have not update the HU so I wouldn’t be able to help. For anyone who has updated the HU successfully, can you please provide a step by step instruction?

    I found this and tried to follow but again, USB didn't work for me but Micro SD did... but mine doesn't recognize the update like this video show.

    Thanks

    For those that have the older unit with the external Android Auto/Apple Carply dongle: What app do you have to launch on the unit to get it to display/start the AA/CP?

    If I remember correctly, there's a setting within the carplay app for "auto start" or something to that nature. When i plug in my Android the app would automatically start. Trying to update and get the app back onto my HU right now so i can't show you screen shots and there may be an update you have for connection wirelessly... but that's my experience/knowledge of it.

    For those updating your software:

    * Download the latest software for XDA
    * Unzip the downloaded file, exposing the another folder called update.zip - DO NOT UNZIP THE SECOND FILE
    * Place the update.zip folder onto the MicroSD card, i used the one that came with the HU since it cannot be a "larger capacity" ie 265 GB won't work
    * Plug in a USB
    * You will have to format the USB, go ahead and format.
    * Go into the folder and copy the update.zip from the SD card and paste to the USB.
    * YOU WILL NEED TO DELETE THE OTHER 2 FOLDERS THE HU PUTS ONTO THE USB ONCE IT FORMATS IT. There's one called Android and another, I believe it's called DIR? - Either way, delete both leaving only the update.zip.
    * Go to System, Software Update and when you back out it will prompt you to update!

    That took a lot of trail and error. Others have said just place it on a USB but mine kept formatting my USB to mount.

    Hope this helps.

    I finally got my head unit installed. Now on to configuring everything. Does anyone know of to turn down the master volume? The lowest setting is way too loud.

    Thanks!

    I can confirm that the unit I received does not need an additional dongle for using Android Auto. However, wireless Android Auto is not supported.

    Has anyone found a headunit that would top this one?

    I been considering this unit for some time to replace my 7" kenwood that i love, but really wanting the bigger screen and the wireless apple car play. But with this unit being an android system i'm worried about long term reliability. People that have had this for some time, have their been any issues? Only ones I been reading about is possibly losing the beep when locking the truck, the hum or static noise when no music is being played and the lowest volume setting being too loud... any one else have input?

    Did you ever get the correct wire harness? I'm having the same issues, exactly the same issues. Just received my Max6.

    If you look at my wire harness (with my hand) the rear camera video out is the yellow rca cable. You plug this into one of the video input on the #2 cable adapter that comes with the head unit. That's how the rear camera (OEM) is connected

    I'm having static noise in the background, very low, but still annoying, to me. It might be because I have the JBL system and I haven't removed the stock amp, going to find out this weekend if that's the problem. I triple checked my grounding, that ain't it.

    I ran the ground cable to the grounding point near the factory amp under the front passenger seat and that solved the static noise for me.

    I am about ready to buy the Dasaita HU, I have read through the thread here and I am unclear on a couple of things;

    How hard is it to set up the steering wheel controls?
    It looks like some have had issues connecting the rear view camera?

    Any input/advice much appreciated

    Zero issues. Mine was already setup for it all out of the box. You have a '15 also if I remember correctly so you should be fine.
