    Hey Guys,

So I bit the bullet and did the install and this thing fantastic. Everything went in and I was complete in about an hour and a half with everything working. Only issue I seem to have found is I'm lacking the bass I had with my etune system. I have flipped the equalizer 7 different ways and it just does not have as much umph. The mid and treble ranges sound better but little to no bass. Any ideas? Did I miss a hookup or a setting?

Try going into your amplifier app and turn on “LUD”

Mine is driving me crazy and it's not really the HUs fault. I use hotspot for data and pandora to stream, but lately it's been buffering a ton and driving me crazy. Not sure if the issue is the link between the HU and the phone or my network connection or possibly I've hit my limit on 4g hotspot.

Download Speedtest app on your phone and HU to see what kind of download and upload speed you get

Well, its my phone/Verizons fault, but i just cant seem to get a reliable enough data from them for Pandora to stream consistantly. I just ordered a Halo 9 and will just go back to listening to XM. My unit will be for sale soon with everything needed to install and Malaysk custom Rom included.

Lol u go through head units like crazy. The halo does look super nice. Curious how you are going to like it compared to the dasaita and Tesla style

We shall see. I really like the Dasaita but ultimately I need my music to be reliable. I know most others use carplay or download their music. I think streaming directly to the pandora app on the phone and just sending audio over bluetooth would be more reliable but it's too much extra steps to do it that way. Ultimately I think it boils down to Verizon deprioritizing hot spot traffic. I dont have these issues at 6:30 am on my morning commute just in the afternoon when the network is way more busy.

That sucks that your carrier is creating the limitations.

I have not had an issue tethering my tmobile oneplus to the android unit. Also nice to use tasker to automatically switch tethering on and off.

I had issues with my iphone hotspot connecting. Bought a tmobile hotspot and their $10 a month plan. Just leave it in the truck and it connects. They also dont charge data for the music streaming, works well for me.

    Good morning all,
This morning I got in my truck and turned on the lights to go to work, pulled out of my driveway, and the LED's in the face of the HU flickered. Not the screen itself, just the little buttons on the front.
Everything normal, go over a bump, flicker. Move the screen a little bit, they come back on solid. Keep driving, smooth, no bumps, they flicker, fade out and stay BARELY lit, then turn off entirely. Move the screen again, come back on.

Anybody experience this? I'm hoping it's just something simple, but I don't know how connections could get loose, the ribbon between the screen and "box" lock in pretty solid. Any input is appreciated!

If it's not too late, you can grab one of these from Verizon. That's what I did. It tucks in nicely right under the HU and I just leave it there full time. Connects automatically and I've never had a buffering/connection issue.

Yes. Here is the only photo I have handy. You can just barely see it below the center HVAC control knob if your monitor settings are bright enough (it's not a great representation, but it just goes to show how out of the way it is). It plugs in to the USB port and can turn 90 degrees sideways so it's totally unobtrusive. It doesn't work as a hotspot for other devices simultaneously like a JetPack does, but it works great.

Have an older version 9" MTC_XRC (Different manufacture) V2.80_1 from 2018, px5 8 core 64bit. Been meaning to run updates. I still occasionally use Kodi because I have free/hacked Pandora one (Pandoki) account. Wife and share a paid subscription, sometimes our listing times overlap.

Can someone help me? I just installed my unit today, plugged everything in, everything works but when i plug in my phone to use CarPlay, i can't seem to get it to connect via USB. I checked the usb cable and it's plugged in nice and snuff. Do i need to have a mobile hotspot or phone tethering option to use this? Or do i need to download any app to the Dasaita unit? My phone plan does not allow me to have mobile hot spot since it's an unlimited family sharing plan. This sucks, hope it's not because of that that i can't connect to CarPlay which is the sole purpose of me getting this unit. :(

My phone stays on this screen the whole time and doesn't do anything else

You do not need mobile hotspot or tethering for carplay. When you plug in your phone, it should launch the “AutoPlay” app. Do you have that app on your HU?

Im not sure, what does that app look like? i looked around and didn't see it. I know it's not my phone because i use apple carplay on my other car that has it, so it's the head unit and not my phone

This is the app on my HU.

Are you using the CarPlay dongle as well? If you don’t have the app on the HU, you have to sideload it.

My unit should already be ready for carplay without the Dongle, i think? it's the 9.0 version for my 2nd gen Tundra. It has the USB cable connected to the head unit and instruction says "for apple carplay"
Let me go to my truck again and see if i have that app

I didn't have the autoplay app, i downloaded it onto my USB and then installed it into the head unit, still not launching the carplay . Not sure if i installed the correct one or not but file name was autoplaybox.apk

You should confirm if your HU has CarPlay built in or not. Looks like you might need a dongle or you are not using the correct app for your HU
