I have that one (different vendor)... I like it because with the trim kit you can have an extra little cubby hole to put crap in if you want.

the camera power source will come from the included harness. it should be labeled for power for camera.

sorry not sure. the one you linked looks like the older version and not the newer one with rounded corners. i have android and do not use the android auto either. i find the UI agama car launcher does more than suffice for controlling everything from the screen.

Do you have a front license plate? If so, the bottom of that frame a good place to mount the camera. I did mine just like another member shared pictures of earlier in this thread and it works great.

That wire connects to the red wire going to the camera. The other end of it connects to rca at head unit and red wire to yellow wire.

Ordered the one you guys said to get from Amazon. It came without a Toyota wireharness or a usb connector or the canbus. Needless to say I’m sending it back.

The system runs most its controls from a processor right, so the MCU update I thought was the only update really available... What is this "system" update...? Do I install it the same way I do an MCU update?

MCU is a micro controller that assist in making sure all the hardware (ie bluetooth module, am/fm tuner, dvd, etc) talk to one another. The system update is the OS image. I would say both are equally important in optimizing your system.

Agreed. Just noticed ones 800MB and the other was like 240kB lol... I'll get it installed tonight since I'm leaving on a hunting trip in the morning.

they are so new to our forum that they havent been tried and tested as long yet. i can tell you that i live in the high desert where it gets to 110-115F during the summers outside of my car and it holds up well. at the end of the day, they are just glorified computers with modular hardware such as bluetooth cards, am/fm receivers, and dvd drives so you must look at it in that respect. they will freeze or stutter every now and then and its good to reboot them once a week to refresh the processes and clear the ram. other than that i would worry more about the heat aspect than the cold ... at least for me, but then again, i dont have experience with electronics in extreme cold weather. hope this helps.

So far it's been worth it. I'm working on my own setup with nova launcher. The themes included are all basically the same. I will probably make a video soon when I get it set the way I like it. He also has splitscreen working. I don't use it but I know it's very nice for using navigation.
