Been wearing boots most of my life. I bought a pair of Justin elephants when I came back from Desert Storm and they still have the "Justin" emblem on the sole. My dad has a pair of Dan Post Sea Turtle that are worth well over $2k because they quit making them long ago. I also have a pair of Dan Post Cayman alligator, Larry Mahan Ostrich boots and I just picked up a pair of Tony Lama work boots. I hate the square toe look. My knock around boots are Justin Ropers. I have a wide foot

Boots are all I wear. Have tried out about everything, the pair I wear everyday are sharkskin naconas. Love shark. Doesn’t scuff or scratch, and isn’t to flashy. They have been resoled A lot and still look about new.

Have a pair of shark skin ropers about 25 yrs old. Very durable.
My wife hates them. They were my "Lucky" boots back in my single days, LOL

Now that I have a pair of Anderson’s I don’t know if I can go back to cheap boots. I think they’re worth it in the long run.

Here are a couple of mine, all hand made Mexican boots. I actually sell boots on the side, not a big fan of square toe but slowly getting into snip toe (waiting on them to be made).

left to right: ostrich, deer, Caimán tail, and another ostrich.

No disrespect, I truly respect what truck drivers do and have to deal with. My step, which is a truck driver for 50+ yrs, told me that joke.

Yea they’re “unique” individuals. My dad hauls steel across the country. He’s the wittiest, funniest, most piss-n-vinegar filled person I know. Speaking of...we can’t go anywhere without having to stop for a piss break...something about walking into an establishment triggers some weird innate reflex in his bladder.

If my life depended on it, and I had to vote if I thought the wind would blow tomorrow or if a truck driver I saw would immediately go pee after walking into a store...I’d chose the latter.

My first pair of boots. Justin Boots George Strait edition. Only wear them when it cools down here in AZ. Only shoe I’ve owned that actually keeps my feet warm.

WOO HOO. Gotta go, but Olathe is all I've ever worn. Down to 2 pair now. Always get one with a spur shelf and usually rawhide heel. The lower heeled ones started out as barn/work boots but smurged into riding boots also at times. Roper lace ups for more dress up occasions.
I'll post more on care and break in when I get back, later today/tonight.

How I was taught how to break in leather was to put shaving cream on it and let it sit. Then rinse off the shaving cream, getting the boots/holster wet. Then with a damp wet cloth, rub, RUB, in a generous amount of mink oil, then wipe off.. Now stick in pistol/wear boots. The principal seems to be get ride of any coating on the leather, wet the material to open the pores, then fill the pores with the creme/oil, then form it to what you're going to do with it as it dries it'll do that.
